how about implementing double-jumping into one of the power ups, if you havent already...

could make for some interesting level design

Funny that you say that Onyx, I planned on porting the "Find the switch and grab the coin that appears" concept found in Luigi's Coin Quest to MA2 to keep the levels fresh, so good idea!

hehe...new ideas, huh? How about having a "P-switch" that, when stepped on, ends the level?

...perhaps having just one level having the feature, "find the switch!", will be cool .

I have a Great Idea for the Luigi v.s. Mario Hack.

O.K. First. The game should be like this. Pretend your mario, You die, then your guy switches to luigi. Then he dies and turns back. Eh, Pretty sweet.

Then at the end, Mario and Luigi find another Pipe and once they go up, There will be a sign that Reads"Luigi V.S Mario Rise of the Levels" I don't know if the Creator would wanna put that on. but it would be Incredible.

Then you should have stat points for players. Example.You can edit how fast they Run or jump Highet or even Fly time power... THAT WOULD BE AWSOME..
Heres a GIF screen how it should look.But use ya own GFX. not GIF.

And You should have "CLIMB" levels. you must climb before the lava catches up with you. The level is just straight up.

And there should be CHEAT CODES.

This is what I'm talking about.

A sprite that mischivously bounces around a small level. It is hard to catch. If you catch it you are rewarded.

Im NOT trying to convince you that I've played one of your levels, so any response you have to my false disclaimer is way beyond the point.

Did somebody say ideas?

- The Submarine from SML
- Levels such as 4-6 in the original (where you can switch between two variations of the world, in this case, a version with big enemies and a version with small enemies), only with a puzzle sense in mind.
- An underwater world, focused more around sunken stuff such as coral reefs and ships as opposed to having a water world based around levels on the water's surface.
- Ghost/Haunted World
- Levels where you must kill enemies to proceed
- Fast-paced platform rides (such as those in SMW2)
- A world that takes place inside a living thing, perhaps a Boss Bass or something.

Yes I've played that level in Mario vs Luigi, Ive played most of it, even more than most people since I know how to warp in the game.

You have not played that. That was one level, not a mini-game. The mini-game is based on ice and you get a prize when the time runs out, unless that's what you are talking about..

That wouldn't make sense if Luigi went through first, though. Just have Luigi take a different path through the same area.

Also, when you're Mario you should see Luigi jumping around in the background occasionally, and vice-versa.

Oh... another Idea... besides Yoshi... If you don't want to have completely different worlds for Mario and Luigi... how about you have Luigi and Mario together as a team working to save the princess... each character would be able to use different powerups and have different abilities... so you'd have to switch characters to get past certain parts of the world... so Luigi would be able to go through certain parts of a world... while Mario others... and by using both characters.. you could work to clear a world. This could also make room for a sick co op 2-player mode in which both players could work to clear a world on split screens AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Mouser would be awesome to be included in this game. maybe you could have a level where you ace him and he runs off and you have to find him and face him again and repeat.

I say retire the SMB3 enemies and throw in lesser seen enemies. Like alot of the enemies from the gameboy super mario games.

Pshaw, I've thought of enough ideas. A lot of the stuff put into MA2 is stuff people have wanted to see (seperate characters, new enemies, etc etc). My main thing I'm looking for is a hack idea that would breathe fresh life into a level. Like the levels I made where you have to collect so many coins to move on. That's a nice change of pace than just from going from A to B. I want ideas like that mostly.

For the most part, the major stuff is done but Im running really dry on level ideas and if I can get some new level objectives that would nudge me forward for a few more worlds, otherwise I sit staring at the level editor hoping something good comes to my head

How about if you get game over you see the other brother saving the princess and do something to tease the one you play as..... Or something like that.

Dahrkdaiz. I wanted to say 1 thing, Please make ''The
coin that pops out of the ? block'' from 8x16 to 16x16
like your ''SMW Fireball Coin'' so it can match
the coins perfectly. And make sure that you leave
the color (Yellow/Brown)

And if you want you can change the coin graphics to SMW style.

A level where you replace that foreground "water (still)" with lava and create a vertical autoscrolling, so Mario has to quickly jump to not fall in lava and has to avoid various traps all along the level; for example like that acid dungeon level in DKC2.
