Whoa... I never got t saw him play because I was born in 1994. I knew there was a problem when they said about the operation. At least he got to be here when he got inducted ito the hall of fame. |

I'm sure the glaucoma didn't help. I mean, it's not like you can see every stroke coming, but he wasn't exactly in the best of health.
I didn't get into baseball until 1995, so I missed most of his career, but just going from what I've heard and seen, he certainly was that special. Seeing people talking about how "it's probably just a Minnesota thing"... no, it isn't. We understand pulling for someone with that kind of enthusiasm and joy for the game, and every team should have a Kirby. |

That sucks...it is unfortunate that his career was cut short. Makes me wonder what more he would have done for his career. It is a loss for baseball. |

Yup.
I had a feeling something wasn't right yesterday when he had the stroke... I mean, obviously when someone has a stroke at age 45, there's going to be some questions ranged especially since he was... well... large. But it's still extremely shocking. I remember watching him play many years ago on TV; he was unique, no other way to put it. (I'm sure some of you have better memories, so feel free to post.) He will be missed. |
