I use a Logitech precision gampepad.
It looks like the the pad which boom.dk uses, but it hasnt got the two analog sticks. |

I use a sidewinder that I got from a friend. It really sucks. SO, I was thinking of getting a new one and stumbled across this on newegg.
XGear Dual Reflex Gaming Pad. I was also wondering how you enable rumble in like epsxe or something? |

I have a Logitech, I forget what else it's called. It's basically a ps2 controller that uses a usb port.
It has an annoying habit, though. Its rumble function uses the same space in RAM as Civ III's mouse animations. So it rumbles like the crazy, making noise and bouncing around like a rabbit on catnip. It's just a mild inconvenience to unplug it every time, but sometimes I forget, and darn. |

An old Saitek with just a d pad, shoulder buttons, and 6 face buttons.
It's not bad at all, and quite sturdy. Hell, I use it for 64 games. |

I personally would like to try the SNES pad on my computer. I have never gotten the chance to do so, however. I did try a Gravis controller once while visiting my cousin, though.  |

Oh man, have I gone through controllers.
The first ones were the Gravis controllers (PS1 style) ($15 each) Took them apart to rearrange the button colors to match that of the Famicom. The next set were true to the orginal: SNES USB controllers ($20 a piece) The last one I got was the Recoil pad. (PS2 style) ($20) It's my main one now, great play for SNES and N64. I'm looking into possibly getting the XBox 360 controller just for my computer, but $40? The guy at Wal-Mart said he uses it all the time for his PC and downloaded the drivers from Microsoft's website (go figure where to get those from). |

I too use a PS1 pad. It is the best controller design I've seen to date--although the next gen controllers seem to be interesting, particularly the 1-handed one nintendo is developing |

I've had a Gravis Gamepad Pro for years now, only cost me $10. I got this huge, heavy, $30 Logitech monstrosity as a present and it broke in a few months, I never dropped it or anything. |

My Saitek P880 is pretty much what Cheveyo described. Layout depends what's being emulated. I pretty much have N64 set up just like the real controller, except left shoulder is Z and left stick is L, because you never really use L in N64 games. Right stick is Start. On other systems I tend to use the rightmost buttons as start, select, turbo, save state, reload state etc, and one of the joysticks as reset. |

I'm using my Dual Shock with some noname USB/PS2 converter I got when I first bought a dancemat. I use the former more than the latter now and it's never failed me. I really despise the sturdiness of most cheaper PC gamepads  |

So far, the keyboard has been fine enough for me. Although I do plan to invest in a joypad of some sort eventually, there is no rush at this time. |

I have a Gravis Eliminator GamePad Pro that I picked up a few years back and it's been the most reliable of all the gamepads I've had so far.  So the latest Gravis model is probably the best as far as pads go... |

I use a Saitek of some sort for SNES, not sure of the specific type. It has six face buttons arranged in the N64 layout, two shoulder buttons, two analog sticks, and a d-pad. I use the top two face buttons (C-Up and C-Right as they'd be on an N64) as Select and Start, and the rest is obvious. |
