It is FFXI's battle system for those who don't know...

I imagine you'll either be able to pause when going through it to select other menus, or you'll have a "master" menu which just has all abilities and the character's react depending on wat ability you pick...

Also, it won't be anything like KH, it'll probably have an auto attack feature, and only timing for battles.

I'm disappointed, the only reason FFXI's bosses are hard is because of how much health and damage they can inflict, this will make it hell. =/

I'll buy it probably though.

I wonder if you can control the other character's in the game. In KH you only could control sora, but in this FF you better control all of your characters. You should I don't know why you shouldn't control them.

Actually, that wouldn't be too bad, the menu for every character you controlle would take up almost half the screen, so it is kinda bad.

What's wrong with a battle system like KH on FF? Oh wait... I see your point.

Even if the system isn't too good I'll probably still get this game. The story might be interesting and that's what counts the most in a game.

I haven't really seen any videos or tried the demo so I don't really know too much about the game, but I'll try the demo when I get the chance so I can see what it's going to be like.

The battle system sounds kind of weird because of the pauses, but if it doesn't slow it down too much I don't think it would be too bad once you get used to it.

I saw the battle system on a video clip and it looks ok. Its like if you see a monster far away and get close to him the battle starts. I thought this time the battle system is going to be different then the other final fantasy's in the past. I don't know much about the story yet. I am a final fantasy fan so I will get it anyways.

I played the Demo and for like the first 10 seconds I was confused, but after that I quickly figured everything out and it was very fun. If you can shoose to play the game in Active-Mode or the other one it should be cool. Active is pretty hectic, but I made it through with no problems.

Keep it going Square!

Innovation in video games is what we need, not stagnant genre strongholds!

With the cmoing of FFVIII, my faith grew less and less. When FFIX came out, I was more than than happy with the thought of retaining a true fantasy game. Then FFX came, and I lost all hope for it. X-2 was utter crap for the fanboys to lick up. FFXI was fine, but the only feature I liked was it's music. And now XII, which I doubt will be much different. Square, stop defacing you older, more loyal fans.

I stopped playing FF when FFX came out. I hated FF tactics advance.

I heard it's like FFXI and Vagrant Story. That just sounds... I dunno... wrong?

My guess is that Square's experimenting with this one but that's not always a great idea. Just because a system works in one game doesn't mean it's suited for FF.

and just when I was thinking Square might actually do a good FF game again, ill have to try it, just to see if I like it, but by the sounds of it, they fucked another one up

FF, real-time active system? Square really needs to end the FF series and pick out better names because it gets less FF every game. I think the goodness ended at VII, as VIII had a little bit different of a feeling... and IX wasn't even a completely new add-on to the series, it was more of a mix of every FF from the past. X was something else. XI just plainly sucked.

I don't even think I'll bother looking at XII.

.....played the demo of FF12 and, well, ummm....no sir, I don't like the battle system. Sure, if anything, I could get used to it, but right off teh bat, no dice.

You have to run up to the monsters that you can see on the field and then select which attack you would like to use. Its sorta like KH, but it will pause while you choose which action is best at the time.

I mean, I got used to the KH battle system, but this is FF we're talking about. Turn-based is what helped make it so great, I think.

I just don't know about this one....
