Elle's left eyebrow lowered and twichted a little. She cautiously stepped into the duct and thought about something "cute".

"Oh, hey Sigmund, did you find a fountain of youth or something?"

Ark wasn't surprised by Sigmund's abilities, although an urge inside him wanted to fight Sigmund right now.

Cedric didn't turn his head when he responded.

Cedric: Oh no, it's not hard at all. Of course, being able to find information comes second nature to me. Having connections also helps with the flow of information.

Cedric was purposely being cryptic. He figured Elle would have noticed, but he was in no mood to be speaking about such a thing, especially since it's tied to a past he would prefer to forget.

Cedric: Ah, here we are. The ducts. If you step onto it, and focus your thoughts, you will be taken to another duct that is closest to what you thought of. In this case, we are going to the Yoshenyoshi village, so think of something...

Cedric's voice became very hesitant.

Cedric: Cute.

----------------------------

Arminas: You have GOT to be kidding.

Clara: Impossible!

Thomas: That was AWESOME!

Rufus: Daaaah-yum!

Lucas: Rexious, huh?

All that was left of the group of beasts was just one minotaur's burnt remains, and the blue flame's.... remains?

Lily, along with the rest stared at the youth that had just appeared. There was mixed thoughts floating about in Lily's head, however, the first one to reach her mouth was..

Lily: What in the heck? Do you have any idea how much serious Shine that monster must have had?! And the Ome!

Arminas: That's her initial response?

Ark's kick, however, was not only aided, but utterly overpowered by a strange, small object that came flying in from the clouds like a flesh-colored missile. It struck the minotaur, and actually stretched its innards behind it with the sheer force of the kick that it delivered. As soon as the rest of the minotaur caught up, however, the being hardly let it fall into the pit.

Instead, it rushed with a near-untrackable amount of speed behind the minotaur, aiming another kick at its downwardly-angled back that slammed it several hundred feet into the air.

The being sprang off the ground and over Lily's wall of fire at the brutalized bovine, easily clearing the hundreds of feet that the minotaur had flown and delivering a blazingly fast series of punches and palm strikes at its stunned body before suddenly disappearing in another burst of speed and reappearing behind it (still in the air, mind you). The being, now clearly identifiable as a young man (to anyone who could see that far with the naked eye), produced a small wad of force in his hands, which were brought together as a small object embedded into his wrist began to glow brightly...

???: "True Rexious Strike: Rexious FORCE!!!"

At the shouting of the word "force", there was a loud echoing effect as the ball of force was pushed at the minotaur. It caused the minotaur to begin flying at the ground, with the young man flying after him. The minotaur collided with the ground and bounced several times, one of which caused it to go flying over the edge. Not to be outdone by gravity, the man dashed at the minotaur one final time, did a short hop, and slammed his leg down at the cow creature, sending it speeding off into the abyss. He sprang off of the minotaur's body with the kick, and went flying into the air one final time, doing several acrobatic flips as he sailed over Lily's wall and landed in front of the group.

The young man was tall, with short blonde hair and well-prounounced features. He looked the very picture of youth, not a day over twenty if there could be an age attached to him. He was lean, and incredibly handsome, as if he had been groomed without fail every day of his life and born with a silver spoon full of vitamins and protein in his mouth. His eyes were a shining blue color, large, round, and expressive. He had no beard, and instead boasted a complexion unblemished by age or sorrow, with nary a wrinkle to be seen. There was but one problem with his appearance...

...He was wearing Sigmund's tattered brown robes and sandals.

"Miss me?"

The man flashed a confident smile at the group, and raised a knowing eyebrow at Lily.

Ark moved and dodged the fist and got behind the minotaur. He jumped up and aimed a kick square in the back of the minotaur. He was trying to kick the minotaur off the platform into the abyss below.

Elle just had a thought and started to write while walking.

"There is something I just thought of, how does someone of your age get all this information? It must be hard after all, looking like a kid."

Elle was about to give the paper to Cedric, but added in one last thing.

"You must be great at convincing people."

The minotaur took notice of Ark, and started to slowly walk towards him. The minotaur cracked its knuckles before raising a beefy fist to pound into Ark.

Lucas: Lily, stop!

Lily: Wha? Why?

Lucas: I believe that flame monster is actually an elemental creature.

Lily: So.... you mean.. it's actually an ice monster? I'll take care of it quickly, then!

Lucas: Lily, wait--

Lily, with no hesitation, unleashed a wall of fire that spread across the ground. Arminas pulled Clara to the side in time to have her avoid the flames that quickly engulfed the ice stricken minotaur and the blue flamed monster.

Arminas: Watch where you're aiming that!

Ark was hit to the ground and rolled on the platform before he flipped himself up and came to a skidding stop.

"They're faster than I thought..."

Ark saw another minotaur and had a plan. He walked close to the edge, practically on it and waited for the minotaur to make it's move.

The minotaur let out a mooing roar as it swung one of its massive hands and caught Ark's spear. Unfortunately, the minotaur's momentum didn't stop there, as it proceeded to slam his fist into the ground with Ark along for the ride, assuming Ark didn't manage to escape in time.

Lily: Drenchy!

Arminas: Erraaaa!

Arminas rushed along the platforms, holding a glowing fist behind him. However, he was caught off guard by the shield-like monster that came rushing into him. There was no room for him to evade at the last moment like this, so he was forced to take the brunt of the attack and was knocked into the ground.

The shield monster rotated a bit, and pointed its spiked edges at Arminas.

Clara: Shining Tiger Blade!

Clara, with a glowing grip on her weapon, thrusted her sword at the shield monster, disrupting its concentration. She then swung her sword upward, knocking the monster higher above the ground. She then jumped into the air, and struck the monster downward, sending it off the platform and deep into the pits below.

Clara: Are you alright, Selk?

Arminas: Yeah, thanks, Clara.

Meanwhile, Lily tried to freeze the flame monster and the minotaur, but was failing in doing so. The monsters were, however, being pelted pretty harshly by chunks of ice flying around.

Lily: Darnit, they're not getting frozen!

Elle didn't know what he meant. She didn't even know if it was sarcasm or not.

"No no, this will make the journey a lot shorter!"

Ark moved onto the next platform and grabbed his spear. This was going to be easy, all he had to do was~

"Woah!"

~dodge the flame that one of the flames shot at him. Ark started to run and when he was close enough, he jumped into the air and tried to skewer the minotaur.

Cedric: I see.. Well, it looks like you're going to have some fun yourself.

----------------------

Lily: Well.. is everyone ready?

Clara: What are we re--

Lily: Good, then here we go!

Lily smacked a button on the side of the tablet. The platform everyone was on shuddered before smoothly floating downward. After it reached a certain depth, the platform moved into one of the other platforms and connected with it.

Thomas: Seems like this is where we get off.

Arminas: But there's sitll a ways to go untill we get to the bottom.

Lily: Don't mind that. Just think of this being the perfect time to get Omes and Shines!

Lily noted at the monsters that lied ahead. They seemed a bit tougher than the rest of the monsters they saw out in the plains.

The most intimidating monster had to have been the one that look like a minotaur. Amongst the minotuar were several floating beings. One of them looked like a blue flame, with bubble shaped objects floating about it. The others looked like round shields with spikes along the edges.

Thomas: The path seems longer than before now.

Elle shook her head, she could only imagine that they were like ducts in buildings, but that didn't sound right.

"Yeah, I doubted her at first too, but she proved me wrong.'

Ark watched as they tried to work the machinery, it could've been much easier to use, but omes were driving forces all over this world it seemed.

Cedric: Very well then.

Cedric started walking towards the path the others took when they found the duct.

Cedric: I haven't heard any information about you. Do you know of ducts?

----------------------

Lily: Oh, Drenchy, weren't you listen? It has records from the ancient Kingdom of Fungeria carved in it!

Arminas: Well, you kinda said that and something else at the same time. It was kinda confusing.

Lily: Nevermind that now. Come over here! Put your hands on it like when we opened the door to the ruin.

Arminas, Clara, and Lucas held out glowing hands and touched the tablet. The platform shook a tiny bit, causing a bit of unsecurity amongst the group.

Lily: See? This tablet acts like a switch for the machinery inside. If you don't do this first, you won't be able to go down past a certain point.

Rufus: Well, I'll be. Bubbles here is actually useful.

Lily: What's that supposed to mean, you stupid bandit?

"What is a dewstone tablet in the first place? No one explains anything..."

Ark sighed as he put his spear back on his back. It was going to be a slow day today.

Elle nodded to Cedric, writing a yes would've been a waste of time and paper.

Cedric: I'd like to check up on the Yoshenyoshi. After that, we'll go find them. I just have to see the looks on their faces when they find out.

-------------------------------

Lily: Chill out, Drenchy. First, we gotta find a way to move low enough to get to the closest path!

Thomas: I've heard so much about ducts, but I've never actually went through it.. It felt.. a bit disturbing..

Arminas: Eh, you'll get used to it.

Lily: Hm... I can remember a bit more about my teacher's notes... Somewhere around here... Aha! A dewstone tablet!

Rufus: A dew-what?

Lily pointed at the structure that seemed like a balcony that was located on the edge infront of everyone.

Lily: It's a special type of stone tablet that has records of the Kingdom of Fungeria carved into it. And this is different from your normal, run-of-the-mill dewstone tablet.

Arminas: How so?

Lily: It's easier if I just show you. Come on!

Lily skipped over to the pedestal that was at the edge of the balcony-like platform.

Ark stood at the edge of the pad they were on.

"Give me a direction and I will clear the pad, no problem!"

Ark grabbed his spear and held it to the side.

"This will be easy."

Elle laughed mutely.

"Knowing more about you would be nice, but I would ask directly. I'm just making sure I don't offend you. You're the one that brought up not having a last name, I just don't want to assume things later on when it might matter."

Elle wished she could speak, it would be so much easier.

"Let's go where you want to go. I'm sure the rest will catch up, and I might as well make myself useful."

Arminas shrugged.

Lily: What're we waiting for? Come on! Hole with metal leaves in it!

Lily grabbed Ark's arm and pulled him into the duct.

The Great Hollow was located in the center of a lake. It actually consisted of a very large pit, one that might fit several towns if stacked on one another. Water from the lake slowly flowed into the pit, most likely into an underwater resevoir. Metallic platforms with a reddish beige color were located everywhere within the Great Hollow. The shape the platforms took resembled leaves, and seemed to form a spiraling path downward.

There seemed to be several creatures living within the Great Hollow, as they aimlessly walked about the platforms.

Clara: So this is the Great Hollow. It lives up to its name.

------------------------------

Cedric: Yes, having parents is quite the luxury, isn't it? In any case, just because I'm nicer to women doesn't mean I'm going to play Taxi Cab Confessions. I'm sure you're quite familar with that adult tactic. Now, would you like for me to take you to the Yoshenyoshi village, or would you prefer to wait for them where the cheaper information lies?

"Uhh..."

Ark laughed.

"Brave guy."

"That's sad, you have no parents if you have no last name?"

Elle wrote that down and showed Cedric, she didn't know how it was personally, but she'd seen the effects on other people.

Arminas: It definitely would've made the walk a lot better.

Lily: Yeah, well.. I don't remember what was said about the Ruins of Light. Can't go somewhere unless you know what to look for.

Rufus: Who cares? Les' go!

Lucas pointed in the direction of where the detector was reacting its strongest. And sure enough, there was a duct.

Rufus: A'ight! Here Ah go!

Lucas: Wait, Rufus, the duct might not be on--

Rufus jumped over the duct, and disappeared as soon as he cleared the duct.

Lucas: Well, I guess it's on..

----------------------

Cedric: Who am I? I am but a child, who just knows how to get information.

Cedric turned around, and hopped onto a rock. He bowed down.

Cedric: I am Cedric the Unseen.

Cedric stood up straight, and brushed some hair out of his eyes.

Cedric: If you want my last name, you will just have to wait. That's something I have yet to find out.

"Couldn't we just have come straight here through a duct then?"

Elle scribbled something down on the note pad and then showed Cedric it.

"Who are you really? You aren't just a kid."

Rufus: I hear that!

Lucas: Hm... Strange..

Clara: Is something wrong, Yukin?

Lucas: I'm trying out my duct detector.. and it says there's a duct nearby..

Clara: Nearby?

Arminas: Come to think of it, I think I've seen a duct next to just about every significant location we go to.

Lily: Who cares? It's less walking for us!

-------------------

Cedric: "Those with the thirst of knowledge will always have something to write with and to write on". Or that's how the media says it. Here.

Cedric gently tossed a little notepad with the image of a spotted egg on the front over to Elle. He then also tossed a small box of color pencils.

Cedric: Just ignore the unusual images. The Yoshenyoshi often leave reminders of themselves when I go off on my own.

"I'll agree with you Rufus. If we didn't need his information, his attitude would've landed him a punch in the gut a long time ago."

Ark sighed.

"Oh well, we will only have to run into him one more time."

Elle opened her mouth to speak and tried to form a word, but there was no sound. Instead, she leaned down and started to write in the dirt.

"Oh, it's nothing like that."

Elle stood back up and remembered that she forgot to ask for some paper and something to write with from the group, so she added it to what she was already writing in the dirt.

"Do you have anything to write with?"
