Anyone noticed that Hudson and Capcom are doing the exact opposite right now?
Hudson: Ruining Bomberman with badass. Capcom: Retconning Mega Man with super-duper-cutesy Bobble Heads. |

I actually figured out Milon completely by myself so yay.
...Course, it was the GB port. Which is nearly identical to the NES port I believe. |

Ah... OK, so Broderbund licensed Lode Runner from Hudson since they couldn't be bothered to make a version for the NES. That makes more sense. :\
Strange relationship, though. |

I always wondered why those fools in Lode Runner reminded me of Bomberman...
Maybe they liscenced Bomby to Broderbund? |

Originally posted by EmptyeyeYes, it was, even if you knew to press left + start on the title screen to continue. You still had to find all the random secret entrances and be able to get through annoying levels with enough health to kill the boss. *shudders at the memory of the lightning tower* I got it over summer vacation when I was ten, and it took me four months to beat it. Other than a random Nintendo Power tip about the spring shoes and shrink potion - and a call to Hudson Soft because I didn't know that the third floor boss showed up once you collected Queen Eliza's schwag - I figured the game out myself. I was so proud. |

This stinks. I like the old Bomberman.
The new one just looks kinda dumb. |

Originally posted by Colin Nope, that's actually true. NES Bomberman ending NES Championship Lode Runner You'll also notice that the enemies in Lode Runner are Bomberman sprites, as well. As far as I know, this only applies to NES Lode Runner, as it was published by Hudson. |

Hmm, I wonder if they're gonna badass the music too. |

First I may have to play this Bomberman Title, and it's only for X360, what will the Rev-Version look like?
I just miss the Items on these screenies, and Multiplayer (That's what Bomberman is about anyway) Or it's just like Bomberman (first title NES) and / or Bomberman Story, or was it Quest, for N64. |

Which would be impossible since Bomberman = Hudson and Lode Runner = Broderbund. |

Huh? I thought at the end of the original game, Bomberman became a human who later showed up in Lode Runner. |

KYOUJI FOR THE LOSE for not knowing who Milon is.
ALSO: That game was fucking hard. |

I think they're just adding the 12 year olds with ADD factor into it.

Personally, I think Mega Man when I see that Bomberman art. |

I don't think Metroid would've taken inspiration from bomberman somehow. Now that I mention Metroid, the new bomberman graphics look a lot like Metroid Prime 2. |

NES games are notorious for occasionally having...shitty box art. The most infamous of which is Mega Man's. And Bomberman was released BEFORE Metroid, so it may be possible that Samus's suit got inspiration from Bomberman's box art. It's highly unlikely, though. |
Clockwork JB Posts: 104/267 |
That pic looks just like Samus! Is this some kind of coincidence or...
... something else? |
