Mmhmm...how about recompression? Decompression worked, I changed teh graphics, and now I need recompression...which, yet again, I am clueless on. |

(dragonsbrethren's post was deleted... on accident. I should really turn on javascript, I miss that 'are you sure?' dialoge hdsghsdghsdg)
The whole headered vs. no header thing started when a certain someone -- Geiger -- decided he was going to be a bastard and require no headers, and if any of his programs caught an unheadered ROM it'd be removed. |

That doesn't change the fact that it's still a pain in the ass to have to add a header just because someone decided to convert half their ROMs archive to non-headered. I know emulators don't need the header, but most hacking programs (And the hacks made with them) do, and it's hard enough to get newbies to use IPS patches... |

Yeah, it's too bad you can tell by looking at its file size. |

Remove the header, it screws up in EggVine even more. Try to repair the header, and holy crap you won't even remember what your level looked like. I had the bad experience of figuring this out the hard way....of course, SNES tool is ancient, so that might have something to do with it Originally posted by Dragonsbrethren Quoted because it's so true |

No it won't. It might not work in some other editors that way, but then you can just remove it. |

You will need "Command.com" to run the prompt it says in the readme. Use your Find feature on your computer to locate this, and place it in the same folder as your ROM. Load the Command.com up, enter the prompt, bada-bing, bada-boom, you've decompressed the graphics. |

Headered?? (doesn't know the term, feels n00b-ish again) |

First question I need answered...
Is your ROM headered? If you try to do this to an unheadered ROM, the ROM tends to go crazy afterwards. |

I downloaded YICompress (or Lunar Compress? I dunno)...how does one get it to work? Excuse my n00bness...but this is my first time using this damn thing. I can go into the program fine, but it says to type something and when I do it exits the program, and the readme file says to write "ycompress 0 (rom name)" but I don't know where.
Thanks in advance. |
