Has anyone thought of making a level-copy of the new DS "New Super Mario Bros." to Mario world? It would be sweet to be able to play those levels and maybe some of the new powerups (the ones that are possible) on a big TV screen instead of the DS. I'm certainly no rom hacker I was just throwing this out there

Is the last boss (Bowser) hard to beat for you guys or easy? I just jumped over him and the game was over. I was pretty dissapointed, I was expecting more of a challenge.

Hehe, the game seems pathetically easy from all the vids. i've seen but Mario nostalgia is beckoning me heavily.

Considering that you beat the game with your lives maxed out you must have found it easy. Do you still recomend owning this one?

Yes. Do it. Very fun. You'd be suprised how hard some of the levels are.

Well, maybe not hard... more like annoying/frustrating. It's more of the secret levels, though. And World 8.

Good stuff, thanks for the reply. I'm thinking that i'll give it a try. I'm just so spoiled after playing Anitiki's mario hacks that the commercial mario games seem so easy that they bore me now.

At least its not Super Mario Bros 2 with Luigi.

Then again, that's more like jumping over the level itself.

Just picked up a DS Lite and this today. Got through the first world ok. Decided maybe I should read the manual, find out whats going on. I hadn't paid much attention to this game, so I knew nothing of the Giant Mushroom or the Tiny Mushroom. I saw a blue shell in an item box, guessing you get to play as a Koopa or something. Definitely fun so far, I recommend it to anyone.

Yeah. The Mega Mushroom was way too overpowered. Not even Bowser and Bowser Jr. together can stand its awesome power!

But the Mini Mushroom, I find it's more of a challenge, because you can only damage enemies if you do a ground-pound and if you're hit, you're toast.

I find the micro-shroom much more fun.

You guys should try to defeat the Monty Mole Tank as micro-mario. It's easy to not get hit, but it's rather hard to attack back.

Same here. I also used it when you find it in a regular ? block like in 1-1 and in boss battles as a last resort.

I only have 2 stars though. I just need to get all the star coins in World 8 because I missed a lot of them during my first run. I was rushing through World 8 so that I could fight Bowser and Bowser Jr.

Well, I officially have 3 stars on my file now. I rarely used Mega Mushrooms unless they were a gift from a Hammer Bro or Wing Block. I did, however, use one on Bowser Jr. several times and on the World 8 boss.

Edit: Also, has anyone been to the Mini-Mario rooms? (The ones that aren't required?) The tiny Goombas are so funny.

I had a problem with that with the dynamic block-paths in the... second last level I think? Just too impatient

I find that Mega Mushroom almost totally useless to me, i've used it a total of probably 2 or 3 times in the game..besides I like being good ol' classic regular sized Mario

Heh... one of the most irritating sequences in the game for me was the moving platforms in Castle 6. They were obviously made to take advantage of people's impatience, and dump them into the lava, because I lost at least 10 lives to that level

Yeah... when I tried that level, the Bullet Bills would kill the Bob-omb in my hand as I took it to the blocks.

You know, I keep spawning those things, and I never actually use them... I've had a Mega Mushroom in my inventory for a WHILE now, but I still play through the levels as regular forms. Especially shell and mini. Those are fun.

You can finish a level with...

Spoiler:
x77, x88, or x99 time, where X is anything, and a Mega Mushroom house will appear on the start tile. You should clear whatever house is there before you do that though.

Not likely it matters much to you now, but it might help on future playthroughs.

Thing is, I used my only remaining Mega Mushroom in 7-2

it is way easier to use a mega mushroom to break the block

Actually, I just went Mega there myself That powerup kicks major rear end.

It is kind of hilarious to totally dominate the final battle with a mega shroom. Beating it with a mini-mushroom is total humiliation though
