No, because your solution didn't work due to proper nouns.

If anyone else wants to try...

Hell, I'll give you another shot too, since I let this one sit for so long...

If it's capitalized, then it's a proper noun. It's a name from the Bible.

The first step would be "In No Cent" not "In Nocent" but I'm being lenient as this is the first time and I didn't give an example of three words at once.

Grond is an acceptable word. I was worried about "ter" for a moment, but it was okay.

"Zer, perplexity"

How's that make it not a word?

INNOCENT
In Nocent
Bin No Cent
Ban To Rent
Bat Te Rend
Bat Ter Rand
Batter Grand
Battler Grond http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=Grond (I hope that counts)
Battle Ground

Nope. As always, you have to go one step at a time, and each step has to be a word.

Is it legal to change a word just to separate it, even if it doesn't make a word before you do?

For example:
orange
so range

'sorange' isn't a word, but 'so' and 'range' are both words, so could I do this?

And if I can do that, could I do this?
so range
syringe

Neither 'sy' nor 'ringe' are words, but together they make the word 'syringe', so would *this* be okay?

Only these two in a whole week? No one thought of using "hive"? AND "zer" isn't a word?

*sigh*

That hurts, you guys.

Anyway. Starting here, I'm introducing another kind of puzzle. Actually, a not very sneaky way of using longer words. It'll look like this:

Puzzle Whatsit:
Nothing > Blackboard

Ordinarily, and I'm sure you'll agree, this would be an impossible puzzle. However, the idea here is that you split each word into two or more component words, using each letter exactly once, without changing the order of the letters.

No Thing

Then, solve each of them like a normal puzzle...

No Thing
Not Thin
Sot Than
Sat Tan
Sac Ban
Sack Bar
Lack Boar
Black Board

...and join them together. (Though the number of steps here matches, it doesn't need to.)

Blackboard

It'll be up to you when you need to use this. You're not limited to breaking and joining words at the start and end of a puzzle- Sometimes you will want to do it in the middle.

I'm bored of small numbers, so puzzles are now worth 4 points for a single winner, 2 each if there are two winners, and 1 each if there are three or more.

Good luck!
