Depends what the code is. If they decide to be sneaky and toss in a bunch of code that only Vista recognizes, then... yeah. :\
I can't see why they couldn't just release an XP version of Halo 2 and then bundle an "enhanced" Vista version of it with the OS itself. |

Yea I would have bought this had it come out earlier. I think I can wait for Unreal Tournament 2007 though. Which is going to be so much better than halo 2. |

yeah, it'll be hacked to run on XP before you can say bungee. too bad I never thought of it as that good of a game...but yeah its probably safe to say that you wont have to get vista.
Vista isnt touching this PC either, I tried an old longhorn beta, and it wasnt all that great I dont think anyway, its just more of a resource hog, and it wants to look very pretty, which I agree it does, at a price. |

Yeah, until someone hacks out all the DRM and useless crap I'm not touching it. Maybe not even then.
Really, how many minutes do you think it'll take for people to hack it to run on older versions? |

Yeah... Windows Vista isn't TOUCHING my computer... EVER... The only flashy, resource intensive thing I'd be running is Project Looking Glass. Man! That's awesome! ^^ |

Umm... Halo 2 PC having a level creator isn't the best thing in creation. Halo:CE had one, in fact, and that didn't require Vista.
I never really gave a chance to Halo 2 for the X box... Played it a bit, but not too much. |

I'm betting by the time Halo 2 gets released, this Vista exclusive thing will have been scrapped. |

But if the leaked beta says anything, Vista won't be much more but a featureless eye-candy if you compare it to like... Win XP. And it might be a DRM-hell too... (don't quote me on that though, I said MIGHT)
Seriously, it's only markerting reasons that they would do that. Most of the gaming crowd probably stick to Win XP for awhile, so microsoft figured they needed a way to make them more forward. |

It's a smart marketing move but probably the wrong one unless you really do need huge specs to play Halo 2 on the PC. A lot of PC owners could probably run Halo 1 but can't run Windows Vista, so... |

Well, we'll have more news on that later this year, but it will be cool, we guarantee that." Pixel-by-pixel? So we get to play levels that look like an NES? Hahaha, yeah, real funny, but I could see a SMB themed map in Halo if they did the texture import... Halo 2 was great, but it wasn't... something I'd play 24/7. Now the first Halo, that was a better game, even if the pistol was more of a sniper... |

I must be watching too much Full Metal Alchemist. As soon as I read "strongarm" I thought of muscle flexing.
The absolute best thing about it though will be that it has a level creator. |

Halo 2 - PC
Yep, Halo 2 will be coming out on the PC. Dont get too happy though as it will be for Window$ Vista only. And here we have the complimentary web comic. |
