My RockNES can easily detect Hacked FDS ROMS while Nester J can do it only once or any other crappy emulators. And yes, I hack SMB2j. But I'm still looking for more data I need to write down like Palettes and TSA's.

Well, this works fine and all, now.
The 'true' version is Japanese...and it needs the Famicon Disk thing...wouldn't that mean it's not just a hack? Also, howq could they have hacked the physics? Is that possible? Mario bounces off of enemies much higher than in the original. But I still have another related problem... Why can't I get the original Mario Bros. to play at a NORMAL speed? It seems to always play too fast. Is this just my version of the ROM? Oh, yea, it was. Now it's working fine... And I got Doki Doki Panic...holy crap. Frightening. It's baffling just how all of these bad guys were NEVER originally from a Mario game, and yet, they work into the Mario universe, and bang, they're Mario characters. Mind boggling...Most of the music that has since become Mario music was...never really Mario music, either, but it is now. So weird. |

OK, I've got it working now. Awesome.
Now I can go and play the TRUE sequel to Mario Bros. in its original form. |

Originally posted by insectduel Personally, I prefer NNNesterJ. I could never get used to RockNES, and I hate FCE Ultra's "legitimate game genie emulation" (you need a Game Genie BIOS to use fun codes). |

Try FCE Ultra, it's the best emulator or RockNES. Just make sure you get the DISKSYS.ROM |

You need a file called DISKSYS.ROM, and you may possibly need to set it up in the emulator. Hopefully, the ROM site you got SMB2j from carries it. Do that, and it should work. |

Isn't that one of the Famicom Disk System Roms? You'll need to make sure the emulator works with disk images, and to load it properly. |

OK, so I've downloaded Mario Bros. 2 (Japanese version, AKA Lost Levels) from different sites, but I can't get any of them to work with NES emulators.
Is there a certaib emulator I need to use? Is it because the ROM is Japanese? Anybody know what I need to do to get the ROM working? |
