No, you can only get to minus world through World 1-2 only.

You can also get to the minus world by using a crappy emulator... >>

Why do you feel the need to give what is common knowledge as if none of us knew?

In Super Mario All-Stars, the effect of the Minus World has been Removed. And in SMB2j it acts like a regular pipe.

Then pirate it.

Oh, and I find the wall jump method harder, as it is kind of difficult to trigger one in the first place.

Yeah, Iīve seen Ailure do that and it was interesting to say the least.

Anyway, here's another method of getting to World 36 that may or may not be easier. As Super or Fiery Mario, duck and aim to land one block down from the corner. If you clip the edge of that block (same as you would for a wall jump), then Mario will stand up and immediately begin sliding through the wall.

Nah PocketNES is public domain and it looks pretty convincing that they used it for the Classic NES series -- just removed features that they wouldn't want people using, namely savestates.

I was under the impression that Nintendo uses their own emulator. Others have used PocketNES commercially, namely Jaleco.

And if you're fighting as Samus in any suit other than purple you'd be screwed. I can see it now:

"Why is Samus moving so slow?"
"You forgot to pick the gravity suit moron"
"Gravity suit? What the knuck is that?!"

not really...other than issues about breathing, the physics would probably be higher-than normal jump, slow decent, and all the characters moving more slowly...

the Classic NES Series version for the Game Boy Advance restored and preserved the ability to do the trick like in the original game.

if they got rid of it for the other versions, why did it make a reappearance in the GBA... not unless they have an NES emulator in the game

Good thing they kept it in the Classic NES Series.

The Japanese version looks funny.

The negative world is World 36 in Decimal. You're end up on a endless water level and no pointers active.

You will screw it up a few times. It can be a very hard thing to do sometimes.

Wikipedia entry
The Mushroom Kingdom has a detailed article with a NESticle movie.

I'm a Mario fan through and through, and I've known about Negative World for forever and a day, but, frankly, I haven't really played the ORIGINAL Super Mario Bros. in a LONG time, and now that I'm able to truly appreciate it once again, I want to actually SEE things like Negative World.

I can't seem to figure it out, so could someone give me a detailed explanation so that there's no way I could screw it up?
