Yup, I already tried redownloading that thing. It's still the same. I don't think gaim allows chat functions, so that kills that idea.

You probably need to reinstall the OS as it is probably something even more broken in windows than it already is. However, if crashing is an isolated problem just for Yahoo! messenger, possibly finding an older version or trying out a different client like gaim or trillian may be a good stopgap solution until you really need to reinstall the OS.

Well, lately I've been having problems with yahoo messenger. Whenever I click on that E-mail icon that appears on the task bar when I recieve E-mails it freezes the program. When I right clikc the yahoo Icon on the task bar the program will close. And when i try to use smilies it closes also. Anyone have any idea what can be going on? I've used a good deviruser so I'm sure it can't be that. I also tried re-installing yahoo messenger.
