Or better, use an alt code like Alt + 0173 to make a blank character, and put it into a swear for a similar effect (it works anywhere, too). Also works to make blank topics/posts on some boards.
that's ingenius--i'm not worthy of being in your presence

speaking of writing habits, I write my j's as a super long lower case i

I posted that earlier. Except I said that it's a great way to bypass censors when you're trying to be a dick on websites. Of course, not on cool websites like this one (it doesn't have a censor anyhow). But it's funny seeing some people freak out at you supposedly "hacking" by saying the word "shit" uncensored. Stick, then dot. I don't like having to move my hand back after writing a word.

I usually put the dot after I have written the letter and word, but I have been known to put the dot in after I've written the letter and before the word is complete. I used to put star's above my "i's" instead of the dot, but that fad quickly disappeared.

I don't know if everyone caught it, but..

Because the way you write the letter i says something about your personality.

...that was kind of a joke, meaning to poke some fun of those that actually mean it. I really have no opinion on that matter, though.

As for how I dot the i, well that varies, but mostly I do it after I have completed the word the i is a part of. Sometimes I do it after completing the entire sentence*, and sometimes right after writing the i itself.

* This is probably an option I could've added, but then again, it might not have been used that much anyway.

Oh yeah, and I have no i's in my name.

Depends on my handwriting mood--if I print, it is right after I finish the main stroke, if it is script, it is after I finish the word...

I always write i like i, and I write the point after I finished the word.

Funny, it's the opposite on computers. I capitalize I sometimes when I shouldn't in Swedish. (i means "in" in Swedish when you use it alone, and not "me")

Hmm, my name have a i. Emil Larsson is my whole name. Emil was actually the first thing I did learn to write and read too...

Yeah, that's what I meant, but I failed too!

Looks like just about everyone failed this thread.

How extraordinarily interesting. Can you tell us the first letter of your last name too, cutie pie?

My whole name has a total of two "i" too.

The ý is just that board glitch from when you edit your posts, I didn’t notice that happed, and I’m too lazy to correct it now.

Edit: It was a dot-less i Zem.

Oh, yeah, that said "i" before the post got edited. I don't know what the ý business is about.

Similarly, 182077607309.34's dotty post was supposed to show misplaced dots from the dotless "i"s. He couldn't shift the dot in the word "is" because there wasn't an "s" with a dot over it, so he left that one normal.
That would make sense except where the hell does the ý come in.

I figured out what both of those posts meant by taking a few moments to think about it. ;o

It depends, sometimes you just forget to dot the i, or sometimes you feel like doing it first.

Alastor fails!
What in the hell does this even mean?

I noticed that, but I was trying to put the dot in the wrong place, however there is no such thing as a “Latin Small Letter S With Dot Above” so I was forced to put it over the “ý”. You didn’t understand this, so you fail.
I'm looking at your post but this still makes no sense.

When using cursive writing, I write a word first and then dot the i's and cross the t's. Easier to do that rather than keep lifting the pen all the time.

Somehow, I put a dot before the 'i', but now that I think about it there's a 30% chance I might do it some other way. I have really odd, inconsistant penmanship, and usually use a pencil and print. My writing reached its best-looking peak in 4th grade, then stayed exactly the same for 6 years and maybe a little more wobbly. Funny how I started to excel in drawing after that.
