And we have people getting mad at us because they think we do have an inventory in our computer and we're too lazy to look for a PsX or N64 game in the system (we have them live on the floor and we have no idea what we have out there).

Yeah, ours is pretty nice. Yay for having inventory in the computer! Because our store isn't organized at all. Every copy of used games is gutted and put out. Blar.

Used to work at Red Lobster, supposedly a nice place to work. Started as a busser at 6.50 an hour October of 2004. Got up to 6.75 the next month... and didn't get up to 7.00 dollars until June, which they should have boosted me up another quarter: one from a review and one from when another busser started after me and got paid even more). I also was trained to host (seat people) and was able to help out when crappy employees quit or were fired.

A manager there kept harassing me and a bunch of other employees she didn't like. After dealing with it a year (thinking it was just me, which it wasn't) I put in a notice and quict. Like she ever liked me anyway. She just hounded me and tried to get me in trouble a lot by finding stupid things to get me at (and trying to get rid of me for having to take a break every four hours due to Florida law). She wasn't even a host/busser manager, but she acted as though she owned the place.

Then two months before I quit, she had control over the bussers, which is when I was told to go back to bussing because... I needed a break from seating. She didn't want to hire minors and wanted to get rid of the ones around, but then she gave in and hired another busser. Younger than me, more immature than me, yet made as much as me. He got away with more things than me, which I was ridden on all the time. After not being able to go home from rolling silverware only one night (I had two AP essays to write!) I put in my notice and quit.

Been late November when I had that job... and I still have 100 dollars cash remaining from it plus 75 dollars that my parents borrowed and 204 I lent to my brother, so I am sort of set for a while... although I would like to work at some video game place but Rhino's Video Games (don't know if you know it) won't hire me until I'm 18...

I work on an IT Help Desk.

I work for the South Australian Education Department and along with my colleagues we support all the schools and kindergartens in the state, as well as Family Day Care centres, District offices and state office.

I help them with custom applications as well as with general Microsoft Office, or IE kind of things. I also support their internet services as well.

I work permanent full time, and most the time I'm on this board I'm at work

Though I get a job as soon i'm finished with education of course.

I happily work here, at Gamestop. I've been with the company for over a year now and I should be getting my own store very shortly. If you're not in upper management, the pay is terrible, so thankfully I don't have to deal with that. Its a lot of fun, and there's a lot of work that normal people wouldn't think when you mention that you work in a gaming store. Its a number business and everything is tracked and watched. We have to make sure that every game that we have in stock, is on the floor for customers to see. We have to scan certain sections daily to make sure it is done. And wer have to be under a certain number or we get bitched at. Also, you have to make sure that all the major sections are in ABC order, shipments are done and logged daily and a few other things here and there. We also get to check out games for a certain amount of time (depending on the manager and if the inventory is good).

You guys still do checkouts? I remember we did that back when I worked at GameStop, but we stopped eventually, and now we don't have that here at EB.

Ones who don't check the profile can't get in.

(Translation: I'm a sports reporter for a weekly newspaper. Been there almost a year, ever since it started up. Just started laying out my own section, so maybe I'll get bumped up to sports editor. It helps when you're the entire department. ;P)

I'm from Hunt's Point in the Bronx. But it's way too far. Today I had to retake the orientation in the Concourse since Hunt's Point Works is out of service. Until then, maybe I finally had a chance to work near my home.

Oh okay, well I don't know where there's a UPS location in The Bronx, but in Times Square they have a hub that's always looking for people. (over 18 years old) You might wanna take a look at the site for more info...

I worked for about two years, but in Sepetember of 2005 I decided to quit my job and finally start going to school.

However, once this semseter is over I'm going to have to quit school again and start working. Alas.

I work for this place. It's okay until I find something better. I'm just the dumb muscle for them (I can move heavy ass furniture close to 400lbs. by myself) I also sort & inspect what comes in.

I was fired last month after I was hired because of willie won't do his job and BLAB's on me. I'm the one that left my own job not the manager. Still I'm trying to post a job on Hunt's Point Fish Market but no reply.

That's the only way to get a response from most hiring managers, or so I'm told. I never follow up when they don't respond right away, so I usually don't get a response at all. ='(

I work at Spencer Gifts and honestly it's quite boring. They trick you into working there with their "Life's a Party" montre and "cool" products, but it loses its novelty very quickly. I'm seriously sick of selling what is 95% pure crap in that store. I've been trying to get a job at Majesco Games as a tester for the past few months but they never called me for my second interview like they said they would, so I am hounding their asses.
