This reminds me of when I was in the philippines, VCD players can use these "game discs" and you can plug in their really low-quality controller, and you can play NES emulated games running at a speed down (like playing PAL 50hz games on a 60hz system, music is a semitone too low). Although not only that but the frameskip was choppy . SMB was hax0red and you could choose any world with B, any level with A. Kinda made me pissed after I spent so much time to beat the game under crap circumstances to unlock world select . Then we play the game later and my little step brother can choose any levels he wants with B/A ...

Heheh...I had one in a Nintendo 64 controller. I bought another now (it was really cheap at my mall until they were busted ) and I'm currently seeing ways to modify it. Right now, I was able to run actual Famicom (not NES) games off of it with some hardware and circuit adjustments. I want to add controller support now, that should hopefully be so much easier ._.;;

Explains why Nintendo is referred as Dendy on a russian ROM site.

And I belive Strange Mario bros appeared on one such multicart. Remember though, when the number of games is over 50... such as 1000 in 1. It's never that many.

I belive there was legal action taken against thoose... consoles with inbuilt games rather recently. There's not Nintendo can do against famiclones, but for the rest...

There's legal "games in a controller" stuff though, I belive I saw a such thing from Atari.

I have one of those pirate carts, it runs on a real NES though. Literally 255 games in one, but a lot of them are just hacks of the same game (SMB1, SMB1 where you always have firepower, SMB1 where you always swim, SMB1 where you always swim and have firepower, SMB1 where you start on world 0, etc).

That doesn't have anything to do with it. Applicable patents have expired, so you can make a device that's compatible with the NES, and you can do it however you'd like. The only thing you can't do is include built-in games without the permission of those who hold the rights to the games.

Besides, the only way to make a clone that's 100% identical to an NES is to actually pull the ICs from a real NES, and there's no point in doing that when you can probably get the NOACs in bulk for next to nothing, instead of buying up old used NES consoles and gutting them.

for more Information on those so called Famiclones, you'll find many articles on Google or Wikipedia.

If you desperatly want to play old Nintendo Games, buy the original thing or download the roms, so your not spending money on a low quality product.

The rule on unlicensed clones is if there are no pirated built-in games, then it's legal.

In China Town (Manhattan) you can buy all these type'a systems. I got my nephew alotta Nes games with the console that looks like a PS1. xD

I used to have the one that looks like an N64 controller, it had 100 games for $30. I gave it to my cousin though, cause she passed her class in school.

I saw one advertised ON TV. That trumps it right there. They didn't even allude to it being Nintendo related, just a great product that gives a kid 20 games for the price of not even 1.

Great move having Battle City playing on the TV.

I saw one being advertised on a TV in broad daylight at a mall one time.

Haven't since then, but I know I have.

They're not legal to sell but on the flip side, you're not going to get in trouble if you purchase one. The retailer would get in trouble, not you.

They're not legal as far as I know. I saw one in a bootleg store in Atlanta.

is that like one of those 1000 games in 1 consoles? I saw one last year when I went out of town but didnt buy it because it would have cost me $40...but im not sure if they are illegal, seeing as they are allowed to sell them in stores and stuff.

I've seen one of these in my hometown. But the question is is legal to own one of these. Because I think they used all the unauthorized games like SMB or any other piece of crap. They have no right to port all of these games into one illegial console.

Here's the image that what it should look like.
