The iPod Video is much wider and flatter than the iPod Photo. It's screen has been enlarged to display video in a large enough format as not to appear titchy. When you see the difference, you'll be able to tell them apart easily. |

There's a linux you can install on ipods to play movies and things, but 4th gen models aren't supported. However there's guides to install it on them so it seems it's possible. |

It's not THAT cheap, it's £180 (approx, what $300?). But it's still cheaper than a 60Gb Ipod Video. |

Look at the handy list of model numbers here. 
It could be a 60GB 4th generation model, that would be an iPod Photo. If you don't need video and if it's cheap, well... |

I thought I had the highest version of the 1-4 generation models with the 40 gb hardrive. Mine was black and white. On the I-pod your looking at can you turn it on? If so it should say like....
Music Photos Settings Games Meh.... The only 60gb I seen was a video. Hope that helps.  |

I've just spotted a second hand Ipod in my local pawn shop for VERY cheap. It's a 60Gb model, (as it's thick), and looks like a 4th Gen model. Now how can I tell if it's an Ipod Photo/Video, is there anything on the back? Was there a non colour 60Gb Ipod? How do I tell them apart? |
