I voted SNES, second to Nintendo DS, third to Gamecube, fourth to Xbox
(N64 is not on my list, my two favorite games for it are Super Mario 64, and Zelda OoT, playable on GCN and DS!) |

No love for the TG-16 CD? :\ I'ma go play me some Valis, dammit!
Oh, and SNES. I dunno why anyone, say G4, would say that console is second to one N64...but whatever. |

Nice to see that my favorite console made it to the top. I guess it's the multiplayer fun that I had that made me biased but still...
Sadly, some of the SNES golds wasn't released in Europa. Earthbound wasn't... so I didn't get to play it until a few years ago due to emulation... |

The Genesis-SNES console feud will always be the mother of all battles in my opinion. They were such equals that initially, it was hard to choose which system to pick. We ended up getting SNES and around five games(we were too young to have jobs so we never bought the games), and rented/borrowed a much larger amount. |

Oh, that is cruel. I was expecting just the current-gen ones, in which case, I'd say GCN or DS...though PS2 is up there with the good titles it had this past year.
But SNES has me, baby. I love my 8-bit, I do, but the SNES was my time. About half of my fondest gaming memories all lie with that single system. It was amazing, it was. Some would argue that the Genesis had better graphics, but did you play Starfox on that? How about Yoshi's Island? Mario All-Stars Yoshi's Island Mario World Megaman X Mario RPG A lot of my most favorite games were on that sucker. I still have it, though I don't touch it...I usually just play ZSNES when the need arises, but that's more out of convenience. |

Nintendo DS, because touching is good…. |

I'll go with the popular vote and go SNES. It had the funnest games; and the control scheme had enough buttons to do 95% of tasks without weird button combinations while not having 869376357 extra buttons that sometimes aren't even used in every game.
Also, the graphics were probably the peak of 2D. |

Would vote for: SNES, GBA, Nintendo DS, Gamecube, Xbox
But multi-voting is off. Hell with it, SNES for me - The games are best I've played generaly. A 3D SD3 would practicaly mean I'd be acting like a madman. |

I accidentally clicked on 'Nintendo 64' instead of 'SNES.' My bad. |

Back on topic, or I start shucking the gloves off.
I'm a huge SNES bitch, it was my first real system, and I've loved it since day one. Hell, I still kick back with my little sister and play Kirby's Superstar every now and then, and who can say no to Earthbound? (well, a lot of people, but I ain't one of them) Other than that, I do love my Gamecube and PS2, and my DS a good bit. The last three I bought myself, no gifts involved at all, so I'm feelin' pretty suave about that, too. Heck, I can remember the order in which I got a bunch of my systems: I first bought a Genesis on my own time, never regretted it though I sold it when it stopped working... The proceeds for that went to my first Playstation, which was another one that I was glad I got. Traded that for a PSOne, good thing I did too, or else I'd never be able to get anything put towards my... Gamecube, which I've had for almost three years now (it was a launch Gamecube, I'm a nintendo fanboy). Before that I received a GBA as a birthday gift from me dad, but that didn't stop me from buying... A PS2, a year later. That was around 2003, I think. Or 4... ...No, wait, 4 was when I bought the Dreamcast. Owned it for about seven months, played it, yeah, but never really got anything out of it because nobody sold Dreamcast games anymore. Go figure. But that summer I also got myself a GBASP to replace the stolen one that I ended up with in the beginning... ...And a DS to replace that, because I was a dumbass and sold what could possibly be Nintendo's greatest gaming device ever. And that's it. History? Nah. But it sure was fun. |

Handhelds are included in "console" sales charts. |

You know, all you'd have to do is change the word "console" to "system" and the argument would pretty much fly out the window. |

Well there really is a difference between a console and a portable gaming system. Namely a built in screen. But I digress, some people just think both count as a console. |

A lot of the time, wikipedia is inaccurate. People just write stuff in there
It's a lot better a research tool for the more obscure things, which are far less likely to be edited by idiots. |

I tried. I thought eightteen choices would be enough to get everything that people care about, but some of you just have to be really fucking anal about this, don't you?
Make your own goddamn poll or shut your goddamn mouth. I saw the last shitty poll, I did better. Now do the same or quit your bitching. Edit: Not directed at Apophis' last post. |

Your new poll sucks monkey nuts also. A few of those fail at being video game consoles. The Wiki knows all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_console
A video game console is a dedicated electronic machine designed to play video games. Often the output device is a separate television or a computer monitor.
But my favorite is SNES. |
