Yeah, I haven't read the guy's blog, and I don't plan to, but the person who told me about this mentioned that the guy made a post a while after activity started picking up saying basically "I just realized that I've paid off my entire college tuition from this thing."

It's not a bad idea, but I'm amazed it works. I mean an image this big:  would cost $121! And it's not even animated or a link. Who'd buy it?
The site seems to be down, but I saw it in the newspaper a while ago. A lot of ads were even almost completely covered by others. |

It worked great for the buyers, too, since when things started picking up the site got tons of attention and their ads therefore got tons of exposure.
He made more than a million, though: he sold the last thousand earlier today in an auction. |
