I don't code any differently for here than I do for anywhere else, anyways. Course, checking your site, it appears you use frames; so maybe that's what you're referring to? |

Thanks to chaos theory, it's almost impossible to prevent someone from screwing up HTML if they're allowed to use it on a message board, which allows HTML.
Furthermore, the way layouts work on this board are different from normal HTML, so while I have my own website, I can't even get a picture background to appear on it, for crying out loud. So, I suggest a tutorial. Mainly because even non-average HTML-wrangling mega-Joes can find the way this place uses HTML layouts to be... baffling. And I only know link rel. Could someone conveniently give me an example of how @import is used? |

My money's on them not only doing both, but also managing to find a least one other way we don't know of to screw things up... |

Originally posted by Elric Indeed, although one would hope they'd screw it up in the "ahh my eyes!!" way and not the "ahhh, the board!!" way |

Except most people here would screw THAT up too. |

Geez, and I thought I was trying to imply that aside from some people who are excellent with layouts and code that the majority needed help. Hell, if I thought it would be an easy project, I'd suggest a layout maker rather than just @import... Put in the URL for an image, click a radio button to say where it aligns to.... pick a hex color.... blah blah blah... instant (albeit generic) layout Which would be fine for a lot of users with less broken code... |

You know what... everybody who is turning this into a browser thing... I can't put this a nicer way right now -- you're idiots.
A high percentage of people at this board use Firefox. This feature -- in addition to making the layout-making process easier for people -- would benefit those users. This particular feature would not negatively impact users of other browsers such as Opera, Camino, Mozilla, Konqueror, Safari, etc. Your goal as a web designer should be to make things as accessible as possible to as many browsers as possible. Zealotry has no place in web design. |

OPERA
Edit: And so no one accuses me of being pointlessly pro-opera again, DAMNED NEAR EVERY MODERN BROWSER THAT ISN'T FIREFOX |

Your right Why sould they have to do that? It'd be like...um...I forgot the word. But yeah... |
HyperHacker Posts: 684/5072 |
We shouldn't have to disable layouts or use an inferior browser just because a few people can't code, though. |
Sparx Posts: 238/529 |
I suggest IE. (Unless that's what your using). Or, there is disable layout... |

The other reason I was suggesting it is because it also helps to eliminate a line of code that a layouter might get wrong / make it easier for layouters But fine, make everything about the browser |
