Just about any voice recognition sucks.

You've obviously never messed with any voice-related things. That's normal for things to get mixed up. It's impossible to keep a distinct memory of every single phrase of english ready for the player, let alon normal commands. If anything, it's your faul for either choosing two words which sound alike or pronouncing them too closely.

The strap was a bothre for me. Tried it with the Metroid demo and SM64. Didn't help much. My screen was scratched up by a "defective stylus"

I never used that nub thing. Trying to use the touch screen as a joystick just proved to be a pain.

Thank you for your wonderful explanation to go along with this that totally added to the thread. I was impressed.

What, you think I scratched it with my soft fleshy thumb??? Nah, I was using the plastic thing. The plastic thing is what did the scratching. I'm not a robot, and if I am, YOU don't know that.

Here is another thing I don't know why I didn't mention earlier.

I used the wrist strap thumb nubbin thing to play Mario 64, and it scratched up my touch screen something awful. Seriously. It doesn't impair visibility, but, well, it's scratched. They stylus works fine (though it rubs over the scratches) but I don't want to use the thumb nubbin thing anymore. (cry more nubbin)

Yes, so, did anyone else use that thing? Did it do that? Because I don't think my touch screen was different than anyone else's, nor my thumb nubbin more hardcore, or anything.

I never said that

There's nothing wrong with the Microphone. If it's such a problem, wait for the official headset to come out or make your own

And if you're going to say the Microphone sucks, you should atleast back up your complaint with the facts.

If you press hard enough on the touch screen there is odd coloring(I wasn't trying... >.<)
certain games (Nintendogs is one) can lag at points

The color "blur" can occur with ANYTHING.

Lag, as well, can occur with anything. It's nothing to snuff at. Lest it's actually preventing gameplay, don't pay attention to it.

The lag is really annoying, I do not like to see the dogs in slow motion... (Only game I can talk about lag, only one on DS I saw with lag so far)
lol, you basicly also think microphone sucks because you didn't disagree

Sorry, but whoever says the game cards are "fragile" obviously hasnt run over one of their cards with a quad. I tested the "capability" of Madden 2005 with my best friends quad a few months ago, and it actually DID crack, but the board and game itself still work. And before anyone is like, "OmG Why did you run over a 30 doller game ON PURPOSE!?", It was a double...I already owned it, but I got ANOTHER one for my birthday from my Great Grandma, who had no clue if I even owned the system XD. So yea, I ran over the old one. Rather fast though, I didnt go over it slow, as I knew that coulda been bad.
I actually do things like this alot...One time EGM said that they tested the GBASP's durability by flushing it in the toilet, and taking it out and turning it on, and it turned on again in 2 days. I tryed it myself with a NEW ONE, and it broke That was ok though, I brought it back to Funcoland (Now gone ;_ and was like, "Yea my little brother dropped this in the toilet, is there anything you can do?" And they said you can get it replaced with a five dollar payment. I wasn't sure where the whole five dollar payment came from, but I did anyways and got another one. So yea...Thats the end of my rather stupid long story.

I do think that one weakness of the DS is of course, the Dead Pixel problem (Oh NoEs). Yes I have one dead pixel. In my bottom right corner. Its like, not viewable from some angles, its weird. I had one just like it in my GBASP. And the BIGGEST, most annoying thing about the DS...Well MY DS is that....Bugs. They got under my screen. Yes. I even called Nintendo about it(Edit: Oh, and Nintendo, it was some woman I talked with, and she was like, "Are you serious? We have never heard of this problem.". That made me feel all the better...), and they were like, we can send you a new one, and blah blah blah, but my Mom all of a sudden last minute changed her mind saying she didnt want to send it...Why I dont know. Anyways, YES Bugs got under my screen. Many people confirmed it to show I wasnt delearious. You see, they werent under the GLASS! No no no! They were under the layer of PIXELS! YES! The actual SCREEN under the glass! You would see these little grey spots walking around under there randomly...

At first you wouldnt see them. Then they would come out when you turn on the light. This was all on the bottom screen mind you. So it was bothersome and gross...I didnt use my DS for about a week. NOW, a week ago, i noticed some more on the TOP screen. There was about a 2 month distance between the last time I saw the bugs, and they were back! BULLSHIT I though. But I was wrong. They were there. I havnt caught wiff of my little friends in the past few days, but I do know one died, right in the center. Now theres a FUCKING little grey splotch right above my FUCKING RACER in Mario Kart. It's fucking bothersome!

Holy shit...Long post...Time to stop. More weak points some other time.

Holy crap!! I might have bugs too! I felt some bumps while using my stylus......

Eeeeewww..... >.<

LCD screens will do that...but the touch screen, you need to hit it pretty hard to do that. I'd be a little more careful with my DS if I were you

... No, we're not doing that. And if anyone suggests it again, I'll punch them with a hammer.

Maybe it's a new game, called Pokébug. The object is to poke the bug behind your screen hard enough to kill it, but not so hard as to damage the system. If you make the motions and write the letters for "UUDDLRLRBASt" the bugs you've destroyed will be flushed out. Coming to a DS near you, whenever you leave it lying on top of an ant hill for two days.

Aw, so much for that DS tree I planted.

I've heard of bugs getting inside a GBA, through the headphone jack. In a DS, though... The jack on it has a metal plate at the back. I can't see how it would get in.

Karadur: I, as well, have a bug in my DS.

You and Sonicandtails obviously didn't read the manual closely enough. Page 24 clearly states, "Please do not bury your DS under dirt, be it naturally occuring or potting soil. This is not a safe way to store your system."
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
