Posts: 792/5814		 That's correct, although to be fair, *IF* your rom is the same version as the one you got from the net and had the same checksum... nobody would be able to tell the difference.

Only way you would really be able to tell is if you had version 1.0 of the game and downloaded 1.1 or something.

Yeah. ROMs are only legal if 1)They're Public Domain or 2)It comes from your own cart.

However, due to certain measures implemented into the DS that they never did in the GB/GBC/GBA, it can be difficult to make homebrew games work on the real hardware, so that's where emulators might come in handy.
