Yeah.
When Panther got released, I got it for free. With getting the OS, I bought an iBook G4 Lappy.
Later My dad Bought an eMac, and got Panther for it, too. But later on he traded it and a G3 for a G5 model 2 (With Tiger, duh)..

You used to have to buy for Panther but obviously you can download it now. Just go to the link Tarale said and get it.

And could someone move this to Hardware/Software?

It's actually not necessary to have X11 -- it's only included sort of as "developer" and Unix tools and optionally installable. OS X doesn't use X11 as a windowing system itself.

It's available with Panther and Tiger, and I'm pretty sure versions of OS X previous. It was on the more "developer" CD I think for Panther. You would NOT have to buy X11 for OS X as it's based off XFree86 anyways (and therefore must be released under the same licencing...) Apple have been good with obeying the rules of open-source.

X11 is only necessary for Unix applications used on your Mac. Darwine is one such app, so that's why it wants it.

This should go in Hardware / Software, and you should provide more information.

I'm going to make the assumption that you run Darwin as part of Mac OS X, correct? And so then you are trying to run Darwine so you can run some Windows apps in OS X? That would probably be the most common way, although some people do utilise Darwin outside of OS X (Apple having opensourced it and such)

Oh, and X11 is on one of the OS X CDs. I forget which one.

EDIT: This should help..

As for Darwine being "dumb".....You're not much of a Unix person, are you?

Everytime I boot it, it says that I'm missing X11.app...
Where can I get this?
