(ka-BUMP)
Royal Rumble was tonight. Featuring three world title matches, and the titular battle royal. So, Batista retains over Kennedy, who worked the leg well. Cena chokes out Umaga after avoiding a Samoan Turnbuckle Spike to defend his title in a Last Man Standing match. But here's what Scott Keith had to say about the ECW Championship match: Shoving match to start and Test stomps away and chokes him down, but Lashley hits him with a t-bone suplex. Delayed vertical suplex and Test bails, but he suckers Lashley into standing the apron long enough for a trip into the post. Great, now we get to watch him try to sell. Back in, Test gets two. We go to an armbar, and you know Test means business because he cycles through his two facial expressions and gives us "Angry Test". And we stay on the armbar for a while, as Test's face just does not change. Did he get Botox done or something? I mean, sure, he's expanded his range of emotion by 100%, but geez. Lashley backdrops him and follows with a corner clothesline and some shoulderblocks in the corner, but his arm gives out on a press-slam attempt. Big boot from Test gets two, and it's ANGRY TEST again. F5 is escaped by Lashley, and he clotheslines Test to the floor (causing him to shift facial expressions to "Confused and/or Injured Test") and Test walks out on the match. Countout finishes are EXTREME! That's right. Seven minutes and Andrew Martin, the challenger, gets counted out. Does he have future endeavors and want WWE to wish him well in them? Seriously, I'd be shocked if he's gainfully employed in a week. That just can't be what the writers had in mind. But, inspired by the example of the Great Khali, BRAIN CHOPS FOR EVERYONE! |

Apparently the show came off better than I thought it would after reading the spoilers.
Because man... did it look like a RAW from 1998-1999. |

So, uh, how's about Raw last night? Didn't see it, but I'm told the Federseed was CASH MONEY out there. |

Originally posted by Colin I would think this was be exactly why you'd want to work such an angle--you know, is it kayfabe, or is it real? Blur that line, if you will. Nonetheless, I do hope he's not seriously hurt. As mentioned before, the guy is a workaholic; while it makes him one of the best in the business, it could also be his undoing. |

It's always a possibility, but why would you work that kind of angle right off the bat with Kurt?
Plus it's something that's not too far off what COULD happen. |

Just a note that, while I haven't watched wrestling in general in awhile, the whole Angle rubbing his neck thing could be a work leading up to an injured neck, um, angle, could it not?
(Yes, I'm aware of Angle's past problems with his neck, but the possibility is there, is it not?) |

Sorry to spoil it for you, but Chavo wins.
The reason, of course, being that Rey's scheduled to have knee surgery next week and will be out for months. |

Hey, have you guys heard of what's going to happen between Chavo and Rey? They are going at each other's throats again, this time in an "I Quit" match.
I'd figured Chavo had it when he got his ass kicked at NoMercy last Sunday, then another ass kicking at the RAW Reunion... *scoff* |

Just "rubbing his neck" doesn't necessarily mean he's screwed.
At the same time, anyone who thinks he's 100% is fooling themselves. He might be better but that's likely an operative term. |

Or not. I mean, anyone who's convinced he's 100% is delusional. ONOZ HE RUBBED HIS NECK. He'd BETTER get his surgery, or at least rest up as much as possible. |

I saw on a rumor site for iMPACT spoilers that Angle is in fact NOT healthy. Here's how the report went, kinda:
I was at the iMPACT tapings this week, and there was a segment were Angle and Samoa Joe had a face off. They were going at it verbally until Angle headbutted Joe, making him bleed (Joe that is). Angle then picks up Joe and hits the Angle Slam. And just as soon as Angle got up, he started rubbing his neck. So apparantly, in the words of the ECW crowd, TNA, "YOU FUCKED UP!" |

And he's still on the drugs. So nothing's changed. |

well, since his "quitting/firing" from wwe, he hasn't wrestled (as far as I know).... and he doesn't start actual competition until November (as far as I know).... so it will give him several months off. And then he will be taking on a slower schedule which will be easier for him to handle.
I think he'll be fine. And I hope this gives TNA the boost it needs to get past being a "smaller" company to be able to actually compete against WWE (cause I honestly believe that the last wrestling peak was during the WCW vs. WWF ratings battles). |

TNA is supposed to cut Angle's schedule down from 1xx matches per year to less than 50. That would be better, but he should really not be doing this. But, after all, he is "the Wrestling Machine." |

Well, he was still fired. The guess right now is that he accepted a buyout from WWE or something and went to TNA as well as MMA (which he is training for in his off-time).
If Kurt actually was clean, I wouldn't hate this move. The problem is that he's not clean and I honestly have no idea why he's doing this. He's probably good financially so maybe it's for the rush of performing in front of a crowd, but even then he DOESN'T HAVE TO DO THIS. I'd be more positive if he had taken six months or a year off first, but... |

God DAMMIT Kurt, just STOP. WRESTLING. For your own good. |

You can replace "fired" with "quit". Take a stab at who picked up Angle. |

I don't have all the details yet but you can replace "early release" with "fired". Angle did meet with WWE officials today (with his agent) so something went down.
One thing that isn't a secret is Angle's physical state, and to a similar extent his mental state; he's a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Either you force him to get a rest or something bad's gonna happen. |

Due to personal issues, Kurt Angle has been granted an early release from his contract. WWE looks forward to establishing a new relationship with Kurt in the near future. The only Olympic gold medalist in WWE history, Kurt Angle arrived in 1999 and quickly became one of the most decorated champions in sports-entertainment history. "The Wrestling Machine" is not only a six-time World Champion, but also held the Intercontinental Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship; he also won the 2000 King of the Ring tournament. Recently joining ECW, Angle's unmatched intensity was rivaled only by his technical and athletic in-ring prowess. From the mouths of the officials. |

IF Matt's speaking the truth, then it's just a bad coincidence. Tatanka... "personal problems". Read into that however you want. |
