I usually just hold my breathe also, But the way that has never done me wrong would have to be drinking liquids when I have the hiccups.

Oh, girls burp _¬...

I get the hiccups rarely.. but when I get them I try to keep them for as long as possible because they make me laugh. Alot.

But if you want them gone, holding your breath and drinking something at the same time works extremely well. I've had to do this before I sang in front of people before... cause I get nervous hiccups..

The belching thing makes no sense and wikipedia agrees with me that it makes no sense.

PROVE IT!

I try to keep my burps unhearable but sometimes you burp when you´re not prepared.

Well you should wait until nobody else is around to do it, then. Nobody but you will ever know. It's either that or suffer through the hiccups. Pick your poison.

Good. Hell, a day or two after reading this topic, I got hiccups. I stormed downstairs, got a glass of soda, and drank it. I bleched, and just like that, they were gone. I advise anyone else who is annoyed by them to do the same.

Mine have cooled down for the meantime, thank god. I still don't know what caused such a sudden outburst of them for a week+....

I can get hiccups in the morning, noon, or night. I never hold my breath. I've given up on trying to get rid of them. I can hiccup in the middle of a quiet classroom, which I did once and it was funny because I think it was during a test. At least mine go away when I get them. I might hiccup once and then it goes away and comes back later and I hiccup maybe one time more. It's weird

I have grass pollen allergy. It can be very severe. I noticed it when I was at the summerjob.

However, it´s not enough to give me hiccups.

I don't have allergies... so no. And it's not always when I come home, just today.
They're totally random. I hate it.

Hmm... do ou have any allergies that might be the cause?

Perhaps you have an allergy, and it's causing your diaphram to be screwy or something.

It wasn't even his first post in this thread.
That was just retarded.

But anyway. I got home from work, and got the hiccups. They won't go away.
