Give up guys. It's never gonna happen. The power needed plus the cost of getting hardware to run it.

anyhow there ARE xbox emulators. Yes, yes they are. Just that they totally suck and are probably as good as (if not worse) than what NDS emulators are at right now. There was one emulator all it ran was Halo (pretty poorly too [duh ]) rofl.

Hey, that's actually pretty good. Now all they need to get working is Halo 2 and DOA:VB.

Only one person in this thread so far has even really even mentioned the fact that even if there was a fully functional 360 emulator, your computer would probably run it at 10fps.

The graphics card you would need to properly emulate an xbox 360 would cost you more then an actual xbox 360.

It's The Original XBox Emulator On The 360 Hard Drive... I Thought Someone Would Get That... It'll Be Kinda hard To Trick The PC Into Thinking Itsa 360 Without Acually Emulating It, So It'll Run The XBox Emulator But Someone'll Do It.

Yes, and I somehow doubt it'll run on a PC. You'd need to use a 360 emulator to run the Xbox emulator. Ouch!

I think he meant the 360 has just a normal xbox emulator on the hdd.

Why the fuck would an XBox 360 contain an XBox 360 emulator?

That's not a 360 emulator on the Xbox 360, just one for the original Xbox. See, the original was basically a cripled PC running some combination OS of NT4 and 2000 (actually this reduces the need for a traditional emulator, if you've got Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 or ReactOS, you can have a subsystem developed compatible with original Xbox programs, and that's actually being done currently; oh yeah it's also the reason you got BSOD-type thingers). The Xbox 360 is crippled PowerPC-64 hardware, running a ported Windows 2000 (also why it still crashes like the original).

Emulating Xbox 360 not only means having a speedy PPC64 emulator (PearPC might be a base, but it only does PPC32 right now), but also emulating all the necessary Windows 2000/DirectX APIs that the games use. Screw emulation, it might be possible with a great deal of work to port ReactOS to PPC64 and develop an Xbox 360 subsystem on it. Or even making a virtualizer on PPC64 and somehow getting the operating system out of the Xbox 360 and getting it to work (did I mean Xbox's hardware is crippled, it'll require a few hacks to make it work).

Yeah... The mag is about 6 months old, and said they'd be out in a few months... If they're not out look, I guess you could look for them in '06.

Yeah, but I read a really old PC mag tht had reviews of an up-and-coing Intel chip that had two physical cores and two virtual ones... One core for each of the XBOX 360's cores, AND an extra core to boot.

Also, am I the only one who uses emulators for perfectly legal development?

theres actually 2

http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/xbox/

they both dont really run anything commercial..and they seem to be discontinued/iced/forgotten about...so it seems like they will just sit there...although 1 of them is open source..although even though its for windows only, I cant get it to compile even though it should

also, I found a 360 dump tool..
