For the music, you're pretty much on your own. you need to have an understanding of standard notes and the game's format for producing said notes, as well as where the music is located within said ROM.
For the demo, the easiest is to plan out when you want to make one, then start on the hacl, Once you reach a point you like, make a patch, and viola. Simple as that. Or you could simply block off parts of the hack if you want to release a demo, but you're way past the bench point :/ |

1. use another hex editor???
2.you must know the format the game uses (using asm??? ) 3.probably possible to make something like this using asm: for example thinking of a mario platform game, find some ram space, modify the routine that load levels and increment every time a "counter" where you have free ram space, modify the routine that went called when a level end, and control that the counter is not more than a certain number (for example 2 for the 2nd level) then if so make it freeze up or display some nice "thank you for playing this demo " |

1. I dunno.
2. Depends on the game I think. 3. Wha? You can make the last finished level impassable or crash when finished, but you can't cut it. |

I got sum questions for hacking a NES rom:
1.) I tried to run Hexpose, but it said the parameter is off. How do I fix this? 2.) Can I replace the music in a game with my own music? How, and what format, if so? 3.) Can I cut a game as a demo, to send to a friend? Thanx. |
