Well, my big sister with her husband will come down and so will my big brother with his family. I donīt think my big brother will bring their cat, though.

But itīll be fun. I wish that some of my cousins were coming too, though.

Well, I'm going home Monday. It's a 2 hour flight + 2 hours of driving going home, so it's not like I'm going home very often. This should be a nice relaxation from the student life, though.

Ahhh, yes, going home for the holidays, nothing better, expect for the fact that I'm not gonna be able to see all my friends for an entire month. But yeah, it'll be nice to have a bed that's as long as I am instead of a bead that's 6' front to back. And also having a bed that's less than 2' off the ground as opposed to the lofted 7'+ of my bed at school. And warm weather, who could forget the warm weather (going from northwestern Indiana to the Yay Area in California). That'll be great, and home cooked meals, and a house with a fireplace and a real Christmas Tree and parnets and a car, and old highschool friends. Ahhh, it'll be nice, but being left alone in a dorm that usually has 250 people is the most depressing thing ever, nothing to do but laundry and listen to music and stuff like that, quite boring.

I don't get to go home that often cause it's a 2.5 hour bus ride to the airport, then a 4 hour flight, then an hour long subway to my house.

I was being sarcastic. Maybe the smiley face didn't exemplify that enough.

Yea, RUTGERS, WHOO! I am sooo bringing home all my stuff. I want a chance to play all these awesome games on my awesome comp I built in the summer. (with the help of ||Bass) College is fun and all(with my classes, not really) but I honestly love being home a lot more.

Nah, it's cool, I know him in real life .

Anyhow, yeah, I'm about an hour and a half drive from home, so the gas money adds up a bit too quickly. He goes to our state's university, though, so he has the luxury of a slightly more convenient system of public transportation. Bus or train fees are too expensive from when I am.

If he doesn't live close enough to home to make that trip often, it's not his fault.

See SS, some of us actually love our families and grace them with our much needed presence every other weekend or so. I can't wait to get home on Monday though, at least then most of my friends will be home. I also can't say I'll miss the diarrhea I get from eating the cafeteria food here.

I was awake until five o'clock this morning polishing off my last paper of the semester, stole a few hours of sleep, handed it in at one, and was on my way home for winter break .

I was home not a month ago for Thanksgiving, but it's still an inexplicable shock to be back in my own house, taking a nap in my own bed (to make up for that near-all-nighter). I love the whole Christmas atmosphere more than I can describe, and the house feels so warm with all the candles and various decorations, the tablecloth in the dining room, the lights and Nativity outside. Not to mention the luxuries of being able to flush the toilet with my hand instead of foot, not having to wear sandals when taking a shower, and having a warm, carpeted house (instead of a tile dorm room floor that seems to radiate cold). The thing I missed the most, maybe, was having a clean room with a bed that isn't full of crumbs and miscellaneous Bad Stuff; you see, at school, I'm rooming with two other guys in a room designed for only two people total, and my bed (due to its convenient location) is something of a hotspot for people to lounge on, eat on, put their feet up on...

In any case, since the holiday season is in full swing, and I'd reason that many people who were living away for whatever reason are finally returning home, I invite personal tales of the joy (or, perhaps, despair) of coming home for the first time after an extended period of absence. Anyone have a story to tell?
