No. That's just to throw you off (and maybe to serve as a tribute to FuSoYa's disturbing fanboyish lusts ). The dates egg works like this. On four certain days of the year (according to your computer's clock), if you open up any hack in Lunar Magic and go to the overworld editor, the Mario sprite displayed there will be different. St. Patrick's Day, for example, will result in Luigi appearing instead of Mario. Christmas is another one of the days. I forget the other two, though.
Fu's birthday (Blue Yoshi) and LM's Release Date (Yellow)

I will let you find those dates

Back to the topic....It does leave a signature somewhere in the rom. If you go through it in a hex editor, in ASCII, you will find something along the lines of Lunar Magic (Copyright) FuSoYa Niche

The Change Events Passed dialogue.

You type that in some dialog box, not the main window. I don't recall where, though. All it does is change the icon.

Try The World is Not Enough.

They already found that one.

Some of the riddle involves chibimoon and chelsea.

Hmm..... Movie with Bond.... I gotta try that. *Shyguy types as many titles he can think of in there...

So? His description was a riddle of sorts. "Always running", for example, could refer to a number of things. A river, a program on your computer, an athlete, or even a nose. Multiple meanings. "Date" can refer to taking a significant other out to a special place, or it can refer to a day on a calendar. In this case, it is the latter. The "game" is to find what days these are.

Err...

Anyways, Fu gave away his Ctrl+shft+pgdn in the help file.
Go to the index, type in spr, you will see a sprite tile arrangement section. Click it.

Y'know, "the programmer" is likely Fu (programmer of LM), so I wonder if F9 has another purpose... MAP16 didn't really do anything with actual pointers, except to which tile to use, since the act like setting was read, but not as a "go to" setting...

The 3 keys and the sprites is likely just the sprite editing easter egg in the MAP16 editor that changes the way the sprites are displayed in LM.

Um, can you be a little more specific?

Piss on spoilers, and the I'm Naal, I like Fish thing is a reference to Lunar: Silver Story for PSX and Sega CD. It's a flying cat accompanies the main hero Alex through the whole game - and has some special powers. Not surprising given the name of the editor is LUNAR magic.

F9 is for saving the Map16, also I have found this poem looooooooong time ago, the 3 key are for the 16x16 editor, for viewing the sprite map16
Three keys there are that still wait,
to hold the sprites in thrall

Lunar Magic has a lot of crazy shit stuff going on.
Download a fresh SMW ROM from wherever you go.
Put it in Lunar Magic and exit without doing anything.
Load the ROM and jump to 0x7F2A0. There lies Lunar Magic's signature, in your ROM, when LM hasn't even done anything to it yet.

Spoiler:
When I was going through other Lunar Magic related stuff, I found this:
0x7F320: I am Naaal and I love fiiiish!
What the hell is that. Is Fu trying to hint us about something or what.
speaking of hints, open up the Lunar Magic help file and go to the section "About Overworld Editor." Here FuSoYa gives us a little poem.

F9 was used by the programmer a lot,
to see what the pointer would do.
F8 is a key everyone forgot,
to stop the hack of blue.
Four were the choices in dates,
a fun little game for all.
Three keys there are that still wait,
to hold the sprites in thrall.
Two were the names of girls from beyond,
both pink haired and fair.
One was a title of a movie with Bond,
that made a star appear in the air.

One editor to rule them all,
One editor to find them.
One editor to bring them all,
and is 65816 binf them.

In FuSoYa's Niche,
where the lost key lies.
I have no idea what F9 is.
F8 is the hack Fu put in Level C9 (i think) to stop the blue background for the Erase Data area.
I know nothing about the four dates.
I think the three keys he is referring to is the Ctrl+Shift+PgDn easter egg you put in the 8x8 and 16x16 tile editors, but I wouldn't bet my money on it.
Chelsea and ChibiMoon are the two pink haired girls.
"The World is Not Enough" is the star easter egg.
Anyone have any ideas what the other little hints are?

I know hyrule magic does leave a numeric stamp of some sort, so I definitely think it's possible. One way to check is to open a fresh rom, so a very minor edit, and do a file compare. Is there rom expansion? Are there any unusual ascii strings floating around, maybe near the beginning of the expanded region?

Also, does FuSoYa even come around anymore? He hasn't registered here from what I could tell.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
