I had the weirdest dream a few nights ago -- I was trapped on a bus with Xkeeper and setz going through a desert. o_O WTF?

Considering I've had a lot of repeating apocalyptic visions dreams in the past, let's hope none of them gets true.
But for the last two years, I've gotten dreams almost every night. But last night's was a wtf moment (I have it written down).

I used to have dreams like that too. I would be like:
"Hey I remember this part!" Its so fun to have those dreams. I escaped death a lot in those dreams. Its exciting to know the future.

What freaks me out is severe deja vu and/or memories of things that never happened or in some cases aren't possible. For example, I remember being in the back seat of a school bus as it pulled out of my driveway (living waaaaay out in the country where the bus had to acutally come to your house, because everyone lived like a kilometer apart) and headed left. Now, not only do I know the school bus never went this direction (there's nothing down there for a loooong ways, and the school is the other way), but my memory of it is in a third-person view.
As well, sometimes when doing random things, I'll realize that I've dreamed of doing them before, several times, to the extent that I'm not entirely sure I'm really awake this time. It's creepy. And then there's the dreams of things from the future (dreaming of Mario 64, perfectly detailed, before even hearing of the N64; dreaming of a place that I visited for the first time much later). Those are extremely rare though. (That, or most of them haven't happened yet. ) One other odd thing about my dreams is they tend to repeat environments. I'll be somewhere in a dream and wander into a place that was in a different dream, sometimes months ago. It's as if there's just this one big world that these dreams are occurring in different parts of, and every now and then, I find my way to another part that I visited before. Sometimes things have changed slightly, but usually they're identical. It's not just like "oh hey here's a building I dreamed about once before"; they're all linked together, and I often make my way back to the "center" which has strange things like a giant hill with a road at the top and a "museum" (apparently an art museum) which is made of a few sheets of wood (as if someone took some planks, nailed them together, and called it a building) and contains only a few paintings hung on the walls. I doubt this place really exists since it's so bizarre, but I often end up there. Similarly I used to have tons of dreams taking place in this small part of town (which does exist) where two bridges cross a river. They stopped a few years ago though.

My dreams subconciously try and cheer me up when I'm feeling down. I have really warm and happy dreams when I'm feeling depressed.
It's kind of nice, but at some fundamental level I feel like I'm taking pity on myself. O_o Lucid dreams are indeed fantastic, but I haven't had one in a good few years now, and I haven't had the same dream recall that I had years ago. When I was in High School I was quite easily able to remember 2-3 dreams a night and be able to journal them in the morning. Now I'll be lucky to have one a week. I really should journal them again, I guess. It really did help....

I was told one time, that if multiple times during the day, you ask yourself, "is this a dream?"....there will be a good chance that while you dream, you will ask yourself the same question, and turn it into a lucid dream.....
I never actually tried it though.

Lucid dreams are like the best thing ever. I need to work on not waking up seconds after they start, and having them more than once every 5 years.

Last night I had a dream that I was in a race in a futureistic city during the night. There were weird arrow patterns on the ground and coins laying around. I woke up after I ran into a wall.
I've been playing to much Diddy Kong Racing DS

Last night I dreamed I was back at the house I grew up in (outside, actually) and noted the landscape was very different than I remembered, with some forests and large hills and even a second house that weren't there before and the roads rearranged. Curiously, I remembered how it really looked, and figured I must have remembered wrong.

It's interesting to go back in time and see what you've dreamt and such. I should write down my dreams more often, but it is not always that I have the time, or I just plain forget about it. :/ the_icepenguin |
Posts: 245/257 I used to have lucid dreams all the time...
| Then one day, I met this girl and she crushed them all. I havent had a lucid dream since. Weird! I live in Phoenix! KP9001 |
Posts: 168/180 Originally posted by Kejardon When I have my lucid dreams, there literally is *NO* difference between reality and my dreams other than the fact that it was created by me. It's so lucid that I long to have these dreams each night, wanting to take part in this "second life". Everything feels like material in my hands as it does in reality. It's like I have a second consciousness. I need to seriously tap into this and have complete control over it. I've taped myself to make sure I don't sleepwalk too... Is there anywhere nearby Phoenix AZ to go and have this studied? Ziff |
Posts: 1771/1800 I do the same thing. When I wake up I grab a sheet of paper and jot down notes about my dreams. I have literally hundreds of scraps of paper of this shit. | SamuraiX |

Posts: 987/1016 The worst dreams are the ones where you wake up thinking such an event really happened, or you got something in your dream and still had it.
| This happened to me when the N64 was pretty new. I had a dream I played a 3D sidescrolling Mario, which was my interpretation of what Mario 64 could've been like, and I loved it. And the N64 looked glorious on my desk. I wake up the next day feeling great, only to look over to see the N64 wasn't there, and for awhile I was pretty confused as to why it wasn't there ... Very, very sad day. And for some reason a lot of my dreams when I was younger, was about bounty hunters and transformers, and other things trying to kill me. This stopped once I hit puberty though ... This is a long thread. Click here to view it. | |
