UPS costs < $50? It only happened once, because the power was flashing on and off at some silly speed.

I'm not sure how much snow we ended up getting on Tuesday.

It's not like it'd be easy to just stick a ruler in it and measure it; the shit's frozen solid.

I don't mind winter storms, but if it's not snow I don't want much of it. I like light rain and light wind, but I hate thunderstorms and anything involving high winds. This is not helped by having lived in a place where power went out entirely too easily, and dealing with that for two years, and living in a trailer means that any wind I can hear makes me nervous =/

Here in New Mexico (Where it usually never snows)... We got five inches of snow. This was about the 10th time this winter that it snowed, when usually we get nothing. Nobody knows how to drive in the snow here so everybody is just telling me how much the don't like it. That's what really bugs me.

Yes, nothing is quite as relaxing as watching a nice lightning storm. Sucks when they knock the power out when you're using the computer though, or flicker it on and off repeatedly and kill the power supply.

Why don't you have a UPS then? If the storms are that bad you NEED one just to shut down your computer properly.

They cost money.

Yea well look at New York, some parts of it is under 12 feet of snow.

It's the Day after Tomorrow, Global Warming is happening.

I have never liked winter storms in *that* sense. They have never gotten me out of school, they've just sucked.

But as a meteorologic (word?) phenomena, they are somewhat interesting.

(Atmospheric sciences FTW.)

I love summer storms. They're amazingly fun. I only like winter storms because they get me out of school for a week.

There's a very thin blanket of snow on the ground here, and it has been here for a while now. The snow is entirely gone on all roads, and such (didn't last long there, since it wasn't much in the first place). And this snow will probably rain away in a few days (probably by early next week.)

How can you hate storms in Summer? I love summer storms.

Some rain is nice but when it's really coming down and it lasts a few days its hard to go outside and do things. So I don't think they're that bad but I don't think they're great either.

It's 22~28 degrees C here all the time. There's no interesting weather here.

Waah waah waah. Try Northern Alberta. It's been -20°C to -30°C all week, everything is covered with a layer of ice and then some snow on top, and the sun sets at ~5:30PM.

We might be getting up to 12 inches of snow (30cm) tomorrow. I win.

(...OK, no I don't. But I'll be inside working so it's all good.)

The right half of my driveway had one-foot drifts of snow, and the left half was bare. Needless to day, it's been pretty windy around here.

The only good thing is that they canceled school again.
