For ceilings, it's easy to do (even the way you are talking about having a specific tile for it)... It'd be insanely difficult to code for walls though. May want to start with something a bit less complicated.

That sounds like how I learned to ride my bike. I was much older than most boys. Almost fourteen. But my dad was never around to teach me.

Anyhow, I learned everything, and got pretty good, but at the time I couldn't slow down. I kept crashing. And finally that because how I learned to stop. And lemme tell you. I got DAMNED good at crashing. The bike would come down hard and I would roll safely onto the sidewalk to my foot and knee and grab my bike.

This went on for a while until I screwed up and got hit by a car...

...That has nothing to do with this.

Bear that idea... You have no choice if you really want to do rom hacking. It's like wishing to drive a car without staying inside the cockpit.

Man some of you guys must be getting annoyed of these type of threads. Heh, I suppose it can't be helped.

Zepper, I have Hex Workshop but the code I get are all 4 digit numbers, how can I understand this code?

Drewseph made it so you can't get out of morphball mode. Makes for some of the hardest segments of the game.

Let's go...

1) ASM means "Assembly". When you say "ASM hacking" it implies program modification, in order to modify some aspect of the original game. It depends of the CPU unit, the "ASM" isn't the same. To edit this data, needless to say you'll need an HEXA EDITOR such as Hex Workshop (Google it).

2) Perhaps, but nobody have tried such thing yet...

3) It's a nice idea, but no. It would imply a major game modification.

4) Nope, since 3) isn't possible for now.

5) Once again, I dunno... you're just trying to put useless limitations to the game engine..?

6) Actually, the best choice is a Java-platform program Tile Molester. Of course, if you want a Windows version, try Tile Layer Pro (same author).

Hey, I've been crawling the site for some time now and so I decided to make an account for help on a certain Super Metroid hack I'm doing =3

Questions:

1) What is ASM hacking how can I change it. And how can I read Hex code?
2) Is it possible to make a spider ball in SM? I would do it but I dunno any codes so far >.<
3) An attack from a boss which destroys all my items. (plan is to collect up to the super missles and fall down some sort of hole into a boss chamber, and lose all my items
4) is it possible to get all my items back when I enter my ship for the first time after losing the items
5) A code to stop people from getting out of morph ball mode and jump in small gap
6) how can I change the Samus image, not the colours, the image. Because I can't seemed to be able to find the samus graphics only the CRE and the Scenery ones

hehe, I know its alot and I know I won't be able to do it first time around, all I wanna know if its possible and how to edit hex =]

when I get more of my hack done I'll show ya =]
