Removing Windows' Volume Control may not actually stop it from interfering. It sounds more like this program or the sound drivers are buggy, and knowing Realtek/sound cards in general, that seems pretty likely. Does it work if you simply never open Windows' Volume Control? |

IIRC, you can remove the volume control via windows add/remove components.
If you're on a win9X, IIRC it's control panel->Add/remove programs->Windows Components tab->IIRC multimedia->Volume Control If it's WinXP, I woudl think it's somewhere similar,but I don't know  |

I have a realtek HD integrated sound card, and my microphone... wasn't working so well.
It wasn't recording at a decent volume. I had to put my mouth physically on it in order to get it to recognize sound. So after unsuccessfully playing with realtek's mixer, I decide that it is MSs Mixer causing the problem. So I screw around there, and eventually the problem is no more... but then when I plugged headphones in, even though realtek detected them, the MS Mixer had totally taken over. sound still played through my speakers, but not my headphones. so now I go back to using speakers -- no longer works. I have to screw around with MSs mixer for awhile (changing it back to primary output from secondary) and I have sound from my speakers again... but the volume bar when I increase/decrease the volume is no longer functional. The volume will still change, but there is no indication whatsoever on the bar. long story short, I need to totally shutdown MS mixer and replace it with Realtek HD Audio Manager completely again. And the "Windows Mixer" I speak of is the "volume control" under program files, accessories, entertainment. thanks in advance, this is pissing me off... |
