I should be ok, my dad's isn't genetic. He got a virus or infection which knocked out his pancreas.

The thought of Diabetes terrifies me a bit. Both of my grandmothers have late onset diabetes. Hence why I'm trying to get fit and healthy as possible, as the last thing I need is diabetes when I'm 50 or something. ;

It's not really a pleasant disease, although it can be dangerous as we've all seen here.

Apparently my dad has had serious episodes like that before but managed to come out of it enough to know he needed sugar. He doesn't take care of himself as well as he should and we worry about him living alone...

Sheeeee-it. Yeah, diabetes is nothing to fuck around with... my father's the same way as Tarale and Kas mentioned. When he has issues, he's usually on the low end, too. Although when he's that low, he can't really move until he gets his blood sugar back up.

My friend's dad has diabetes, and he's always short and irritable. He's also a tad insane...

As for those Krimp sprites, those are right. All the sprites in the GBA versions were altered to look brighter.

Well, that explains what Oracle of Wuffing was talking about when he said he was going to leave for a while to help 'somewhere that needs it more than here'.

Yeah, I can usually tell when Dad's got low blood sugar too... because he acts short and irritable.

My bro and I were on vacation with him and he'd played tennis that day and had a small dinner... and we were all talking while he took his shot... he may have done double fast acting or something...

Anyway, he woke up raving mad and his blood sugar was down in the low 20's.

Sometimes even with supplies and emergency stuff around the worst can happen. He was too out of it to be able to go get orange juice or something.

Hm... true. I guess I was lucky in that my father's stuff with diabetes was fairly... well managed... at least I never got to see that. He did get cranky sometimes though.

It was funny when I learned about diabetes as part of some First Aid courses and I was reading out the symptoms of hypoglycaemia -- particularly the bit about crankiness.

I'm more saddened at the death, than the idea a site might go down.

Diabetic coma? Hmm... that's quite interesting, as most diabetics keep around both insulin and sugar in case of either a hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic issue...

...unless it's like recurring incidents at work, where people steal one of my diabetic colleages' emergency Coke out of the refrigerator on a frequent basis

Worst case, it's fate might be similar to Zophar's domain. Only time will tell..

I was a friend to him, his passing is greatly saddening, he taught many so much, and forced many to use proper grammar and punctuation including myself in his IRC room. Truly a great mind was lost.

They look fine to me, but it's been probably a year or two since I last played the game. So yeah, I wasn't quite sure as to what you meant when you said they looked different.

I'm aware of that. DKC has KlapTraps, DKC2 has Klampons, and DKC3 has Krimps.

I don't recall the Krimps looking like that in DKC3, so I asked if they were custom. Those Krimps look more pre-rendered and touched up than the DKC3 Krimps, so I didn't know. A quick play of DKC3 will confirm that for me.

It always is sad to hear that someone died, even if I didn't know this guy at all. It must be the "a person made this site, but he's dead now, and he'll never update again" factor.

Also, if you all would read the front page, it even says that the site will still be updated. If the site's still going to be updated, then it certainly isn't going to go down because of this.

Edit:

As for the website, I plan on keeping up the domain myself. I may not be anywhere near as competent as Web was with using all the amazing tools he created for this website, but... I'll make do. Somehow, we'll just make do.

Which means the site isn't going down.

Man.... That site had some pretty not too common sprites too... Its my second choice for sprites I can't find on spriters-resource.....If it does close down because of his death I bet he wouldn't of wanted it like that....
