Originally posted by Hiryuu I believe it started with the first Extreme US, actually. And even in SN US, there is at least some EyeToy functionality (I just checked, the EyeToy Compatible logo is definitely there), so it couldn't have been a total flop. If it was, I think I'd be inclined to blame it more on overall EyeToy sales rather than how it was incorporated into DDR specifically. |

Meh, didn't they try something similar to this with EyeToy and DDR Extreme 2? Didn't it flop...badly?
I still say they'd be better off taking ITG (now owned by DDR/Konami anyways) and PIU, combine it together, give the player 9 panels and THEN let's see who's boss with the freaking Wiimote. |

It looks good as long as it's not too gimmicky... I mean, if you have to keep waving the arms around while doing a hard song, you're going to suffer so many brain cramps. |

...I edited my post in the Dancing Game thread about this.
The three songs in the preview from the source in my edit were brand new songs, one being from NAOKI (and you DDR fanatics know who he is). The interface so far functions similarly to SuperNOVA and so far, the background dancers replace random videos like SN. I feel that the Wii remote is a disabable task as I could no do Heavy with a Wii remote in my hand having to bring the controller to a certain side of me to pass a song. I'd rather step it instead. |

Oh my god....finally! I only hope that the song list does NOT change when it comes to the USA...if it does, I'll buy the Japanese version (but is the Wii region protected? =|) because I'm tired of Nintendo having to rape every rythm-based game to grace their system. But since this isn't directly made by them, it might be different. We'll see ;\ |

God damn! That is so win. Plus, their impressions made note of Naoki. FTW. |

Konami announced DDR for the Wii. There are quite a few parallels to be drawn between the Wii and DDR as the below article points out.
" Using a traditional DDR dance pad in conjunction with the Wii Remote, DDR Hottest Party requires players to match controller movements with the remote and Nunchuk attachment, as well as dance steps. The game will also support up to four players in multiple game modes and minigames.
