Smash Brothers, Goldeneye and Zelda are obviously in the upper echelons. As time passes they will enter the Canon.
Beyond that, Perfect Dark sucked up vast quantities of my time in the multiplayer mode, even with just me and the bots. I can't decide whether Blast Corps loses or gains points becuase Diamond Sands was pretty much the hardest thing ever, but it was one of the very few truly original titles in the last decade or so.

It fails for being from GameFAQs in the first place. And most popular != best.

Goldeneye, easily. The guys at the dorm here kick ass, so we still have regular tournaments in that game here. Which I end up winning.

Well you all mentioned the obvious ones. I'd like to mention some lesser know gems on the N64. I know some people make fun of Hybrid Heaven, but I personally loved the fighting system. Very unique. Excite Bike 64 had some of the most fun tracks to race on. The control was spot on too.
And I think Rocket - Robot on Wheels rivals SM64 in the plattformer department easily. It had utterly fantastic physics and really made you think to collect all its collectables. Plus the vehicles were so much fun to just mess around with. For multiplayer, I remember playing Vigilante 8 with my buddies for hours on end (in addition to Perfect Dark and MK64) The weapons were freaking sweet and the levels were really well designed. (For both single player missions and multiplayer) But of course my all time fave game is Majora's Mask. which I consider the most under appreciated Zelda game. I say its better than OoT.

Smash Bros is the only game for which I have actually pledged allegiance.. not just to myself, but to anyone who considers my mental state to be important. That game was FTW in every way, and I could not live with myself, as a gamer, without it. Yes, I was certainly being excessive in such a decision, but at the same time, it was serious.
Edit: Paper Mario was sweet, but nothing compared to SMRPG on snes. And Goldeneye had that annoying slow-to-turn factor that kept SOME from ace-ing the harder difficulties.

Man I forgot about Zelda OoT and Kirby 64 plus I think Majora's Mask is the worst since I pretty much hate all timed games and never got the first darn giant.

Mischief Makers was one of my most played games for N64, just because 2D + Funny = Win.
Kirby64 while not the hardest game ever, was also one of the most fun. <(^ To finish it off... Paper Mario. So good words can't describe it. Humor is always good in games. Thoughtless |

Posts: 1186/1239 The Goemon series on N64 was pretty incredible, and so was Chameleon Twist. I think that game might have been a little bit under-rated but I really enjoyed it. There was also Harvest Moon 64, Mario Kart 64, GoldenEye, and so many other fun games. Can't forget Bomberman, either | This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
