And instead of using a wand, they use a gun. How creative. I'll bet that some past-book fanatic will use this to his advantage and say he was the author of the NEW Harry Potter, the one that's ripped, has a gun, and knows what "Fer Shizzle' 'mah nizzle'" means, even though he lives in the future.

That weapon is useless against machines and bombs, which is what we're coming up with more and more these days. I say dump the thing and just blow the living sh*t out of your enemies with any best damn explody-thing possible.

EDIT: Yes, I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, but that's what I aim for.

Does it penetrate the body far enough to affect that? I'm thinking it goes at most a cm or less into the skin and... umm... aren't pacemakers a bit deeper than that?

Ahh, yes, here it is:
The system uses millimeter waves, which can penetrate only 1/64th of an inch of skin, just enough to cause discomfort. By comparison, common kitchen microwaves penetrate several inches of skin.

The main issue with nonlethal weapons in general (assuming they're in fact not lethal, unlike rubber bullets and the like which actually have a chance to kill) is that they can be used in torture. Add things like this to people who ignore the Geneva Convention, and you get... serious abuse. Ideally things like that won't happen, though.

and then who ever were in war with would make more weapons that are even more dengrous then we would do the same thing probly not in the same war though.

Although, Archimedes did in fact make something like a heat ray; he developed burning mirrors, if I remember right.

Sorry. No Link for this... I could check on wikipedia...(yeah, like anyone here would accept that as fact) but I did see it on a History Channel documentary. I think it was called "Secret weapons of WWII"

I found a wiki page but I didn't really feel like looking for it. Take a looka nd see if you can find it.

I mean, It's a start. Telestimulation. Just in this case it's pain instead of orgastic pleasure. I mean with that method they'd actually run out and want to get hit by a couple rounds of AP bullets, not already feel like they do. Now all we need to hear is when they do release it that it will leave permanent marks in their brain and screw them up for the rest of their days.

Posts: 794/798		 That has to be the coolest thing ever. Wow, weapons that make you feel like you're in pain... but you're actually not. That's amazing. As long as it doesn't have many negative side effects.... I'm all for it. It's better than fighting wars with machine guns.

But yeah I second that it shouldn't fall in the hands of law enforcement. Poor protesters.

Wrong Wrong Wrong. You need to watch Mythbusters. They disproved that by actually building one.

Well, it wasn't a heat ray in the sense that things eventually combust, if that's what you are talking about. If that's not what you were talking about, then I apologize.


They did get it though. It works if everything is set right. So it wouldn't make sucha great weapon but is a fun thing to do if you have alot of free time.

The Japenese Made one in WWII but it didn't work to well. It could shut down cars I f you were right next to them. It never saw action in the war at all.
