That "garbage" is actually caused by the layer 1 overworld tiles being replaced with the layer 3 title screen tiles:
It appears that FuSoYa simply hid the overworld in title screen editing mode by blanking out all the 16x16 tiles. However, he overlooked the fact that you can still place layer 3 tiles in the 16x16 area (below the map), which are then used to draw the hidden overworld. You can create a similar "glitch" in the overworld editor in exactly the same manner, by dragging a bunch of layer 2 tiles over the 16x16 area (though it WILL save the garbage tiles in this case, so be careful!). |

That's, uh, interesting. I wonder why that happens... Well, it's worth a try to see if it's saved at least |

Tangentially related, I tried actually performing the bug Smallhacker described. What I got was this:
Clicky It was...interesting, to say the least. I didn't check to see if the garbage was saved to the ROM when you tried to save the title screen like that, but judging by what Smallhacker said earlier I'd guess not. |

I always figured that the P in P-Switch was an abbreviation for POW... probably because the POW block was another neat thing in a Mario game (SMB2), even if it wasn't /really/ a Mario game... |

Wait, but aren't some of those sprite names actually right? I mean like the Fire Flower. It's called something else? And I thought that Fire Mario was supposed to be called Firey Mario or something of the sort. Cheep Cheep, that's what that flying fish is called, right? |

The thing about LM is that it adds quite a bit of ASM hacks and similiar changes to the ROM. Hacking an LM-hacked ROM and a plain vanilla SMW ROM are actually quite different. |

I don't see why a collection of USELESS and UNIMPORTANT bugs would necessitate a new release when the author has explicitly state his continuing disinterest. Now, if there were some critical bugs, that might be more persuasive.
As for him releasing his source... if he doesn't want to, then he doesn't have to. He's not obligated to do it -- as far as I know, you guys didn't pay him for his time/efforts or anything like that, so the program's wholly distributed at his whim. If he decided to take the download off his site tomorrow, there's nothing that says, morally or commercially, he should bring it back because people want it. It seems like SMW has been around long enough for offsets to be found and documented; why not have someone else start a new SMW editor that takes into account the abilities of the other great tools available out there, rather than harping about a long-gone programmer not updating? Something more pro-active... |

I think if he's refusing to work on it anymore, it'd only be fair to release the source -- if not to the whole community -- then at least someone he trusts to continue his legacy.
Then again, if it's not all too important... There might not be as much drive to do so. Any major, life threatening bugs you guys found? =P |

And he spelled "Pirahna" wrong in LM. It's "piranha". In those and other words derived from Portuguese, n comes before h, people!
FYI: I don't speak Portuguese, but I have a knack for linguistic stuff, so that's how I got that. On topic: Yes, just give it up already. It seems right that Fu has moved on and may actually be sick of hacking. And yes, there are still glitches in the final version of DW:TLC. And stop whining about them. I found one myself. If you fly up to and go through one of the pipes in the Desert Pyramid, you'll end up with animated tile garbage in the next room. I'm sure everyone knows this by now, so why am I even mentioning it? Lunar Magic is complete enough and debugged enough as it is. Enough is enough. Happy hacking, guys. |

Another useless error: Scroll over "Standard object command: 1D," which says "A climbing net object with and edge on the bottom." I love looking throught texts for typos, they are hard to find, but I've seen a few. I do not understand, how a "d" could slip in though ... |

Ah I miss the ol' "Will FuSoYa ever release the source code" threads. _¬
Last time there was one, though, this forum wasn't completely dead. |

I found a random mistake Fu made in LM a while ago when setting up some new graphics for the overworld sea tiles.
FuSoYa mixed up the directions of the top and bottom halves of the ocean tiles. Not big, I know. |

The last time I believe anyone heard of him, he was making a mod for IPB around early December...unless its not the same person.... |

Who cares what is Fu doing now? His website is hardly updated(last Aug. 2006),
and he doesn't agree to release the source, we can't even update the LM by ourselves. since this is an unimportant bug, why it is being cared of? Maybe it is just a small bug inside LM's inner codes, but that does nothing harmful to our hack work, isn't it? We can't expect that we collect bugs and then send it to Fu, for he seems to be no longer interested in his LM work. Of course this is my very own opinion. If you are against it you can |

He's already said a billion and one times he won't, and this won't make him release it any more. |
