Yoshi's Island hands out too many lives anyways. (In the GBA version, at least) you get free access to bonus stages if you get enough total points (500 I think) in a world. This minigame is included. It's ridiculous.

I'd use rewind in place of save states, but when it does work, generally it "jumps" back a few seconds, which in platform/action games just screws me up further, because it always manages to go back to just as I was jumping, causing me to fall and/or screw up horribly.

NESDS has a nice rewind feature which I abuse the hell out of.

Also I found that YI layer trick a while ago, pretty funny. I think there's other bonus games you can do it in.

I've never actually touched rewind states.

But, I have no qualms whatsoever with cheating.

You'd steal games souls! And make them your slaves!

Bet there's tons of game developers slitting their wrists right now.

I admit I abuse the rewind feature at times.

It's more fun than constantly using savestates.

I only disabled layers for sprite ripping at first. Then, I accidentally disabled it during the exact same bonus game. I eventually did this to most of the other games that I played.

I love that I can also figure out the game logic with the help of savestates, especially when there's chance involved. I never used layers to cheat, well I might once to look for secret passages in some RPG games.

I do it sometimes, if it is one of those annoying things that I would rather not do without. For example, hidden paths in Final Fantasy games without searching because I am l-a-z-y and I already know the general area in which they exist...

I usually cheat with savestates if I'm compelled to cheat. But usually I just let the game give me a YOU LOSE as intended.

Hmm, I wonder which ones contain Baby Mario?

5UP GET.

Seriously though, who else disables layers to their advantage besides me?
