Might not wwork in XP unless you use DosBox. If not I can take a look at the rom and maybe whip up an editor in a few weeks or something.

BOOOOOO! I was just about to mention how I got it to work with DOSBox when Googie edited his post.

If you hit ctrl-F12 a bunch of times, it won't run slow any more.

My best bet (if you wanna) is to reformat your pc into 2 partitions, one with XP and the other with Win 98 or ME. Since those old DOS editors work fine with those operating systems. I could be wrong though.

Gun Smoke is one of my favorite Capcom games, I'd love to take a stab at hacking this game too. I'll make it a plan to reformat and add 2 partitions myself. So that way I can play with the DOS editors.

EDIT!1
In case someone mentions DOS Box, I tried it earlier this evening. It runs really slow on my pc, mebbie you might wanna try it Vurano when you get a chance, you'll prolly have a better chance at it than me.

Thanks Boo, I did what you said. And I get this window after the editor looked like it was going to work. My guess is that the editor is too out dated. Here's the attachment, I covered my boyfriend's name.

Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I hope I am not asking a dumb question, but can anyone please help me? I downloaded the editor and I have the ROM in the same folder, I open up the editor and get the DOS screen to pop up. Now here's the kicker, when I press any button on my keyboard the DOS screen closes. Is there a way to get the editor to work on Windows XP? I have the XP Home Edition with service pack 2 installed if that will help any and I also have the editor on my desktop.

If anyone can please help me solve my problem, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thread.
