It could be cholesterol keeping your red blood cells in small areas, I'm not for certain. |

I also get red when I drink...at least when I get tipsy and lightheaded. Ha! I should take a pic someday. |

Originally posted by Ziff I've heard that quote before too. I've also heard that "if your ears go red, someone is talking about you". |

As for Kasdarack's comments in general
I remember growing up that there was a saying in the family "Don't go getting your ears too red, then they'll know you're lying" which is apparently brought over from Old Country (tm) |

I've heard that many people get red in the ears too. I don't know if I do or not, it's never been pointed out to me. I know that I get red in the face sometimes when I'm embarassed, but I've never noticed my ears or had anybody tell me they've noticed it.
I doubt that it's a circulatory issue though. I know some people who get red all over -- ears, neck, face, right down to their chest, when they are embarassed. I'm guessing it's just one of those things where everyone is different. As for Kasdarack's comments about girls being evil. Boys are evil too. But they don't seem so evil when they're blushing... Boys blushing or acting coy are cute, it's endearing. Maybe that's why us girls like getting boys to blush. I'm sure boys like to get girls to blush too I think I go pale too when I'm particularly embarrassed. I guess it would depend why I'm embarassed though -- if I actually feel *bad* about something (ie, that I've fucked up or done something horribly stupid or offensive or whatnot) I usually go pale and get the sick feeling in my stomach too. Perhaps I take those things too seriously, I don't know. But it's certainly different to say, having a bloke say he thinks I'm cute and me going pink in the face. |

yeah im a dude posting in the femine's corner, so slap me if you wish...but i have the same problem, and have looked into it. it's probably bad circulation.
many people get red in the ears when flustered or nervous. this is caused by a condition called cradle cap (dandruff, basically) which will make your ears feel as though they are burning when in a nerve racking situation. but i tend to just stick with the explanation that it's bad circulation. i also get it in my fingers and toes, because i smoke and am a caffeine whore. if you dont do either of these things, go see a doctor or a dermatologist because it CAN get serious if you have some kind of condition. |

Sometimes, my ears get really hot, for some odd reason. It seems to happen randomly, and most of the time, it's only one of them. |

My face gets hot when I blush, but I don't know that it noticably reddens unless I'm made to keep blushing. I usually only blush when some evil girl or another makes me do so =P The ones I know tend to exploit such things and won't let me off easily. Girls are evil.
When I'm embarrassed I do the opposite though... most of the blood rushes from my face and I go all pale. I hate being embarrassed more than just about anything, and I remember almost all of the times it's happened to me. Often I randomly think of something I did or said that I'm sure no one else remembers and I still get a horrble, sick feeling in my stomach... yuck. |

My ears get red if I blush, too. It starts in my face and just keeps spreading to my ears, depending on how embarrassed/angry/giggly I am. It usually goes away pretty quickly, but I definitely feel the hot sensation on my ears. |

Mine don't do that, but when I get tired, one of them gets hot and red. Just one. And it's not even the same one, either. It could be the left or the right. |

Isn't that blushing? It's pretty common I hear. |

I would believe that it is just blood rushing to your ears.
Happens to me, too. Ears get red, and if I'm angry, throat goes dry. |

How big are your ears? I have noticably large ear lobes and they change colour more than my face does |

Since we don't have an actual health/body/whatever forum I have no where else to post this.
You see, especially over the years, my face would get red at the littlest of things. Ranging from being pissed to just being embarrassed or having strong feelings about someone. Normal, right, I mean, people in general blush, right? But what I find a bit odd, is that my ears will get red and sometimes feel really hot during certain emotions. Yep, a bit freaky, if I say so myself. Anyone else get this same feeling in their ears? |
