I personally wouldn't bother with cracking a proprietary DVD player, just get VLC instead (unless a Windows port of Xine has shown up since I last checked, that'd pwn). The advantages would be that you wouldn't be restricted by DVD instructions to block certain functions (goto menu, skip, etc), and if your drive is region-free, VLC wouldn't care either (proprietary players tend to have their own restrictions even if you have an RPC1 drive). |

A quick Google search for PowerDVD virus turns up nothing noteworthy. Looking for a crack and getting a virus instead isn't uncommon. |

For anyone that has a legit copy of CyberLink's PowerDVD 7, does this have ANY viruses or Trojans associated with it? Mine's somewhat less than legit, and after scanning with AVG, it says it found TrojanDropper.Yabinder. That would probably explain the illegitimate programs known as "wmpIayer.exe"and "lexplorer.exe"that popped up. So, if it doesn't, and the person who started the torrent is just being a dick, how can I tip people off that the file's infected? |
