Originally posted by FreeDOS + I think dreamweavers built in FTP is better, seeing as it has all those nifty feautures and you just press a button to upload the file that you're editing. Only flaw is that dreamweaver is friggin' expensive... My wallet had anal problems for months. |

Nah, you can just upload to your website and link properly to the images with <img src="http://image url here" /> |

Open SmartFTP. There's a bar at the top that has a space for address, login, password and port. In the address space put username.1111mb.com (where username is your username for your hosting account.). In the login space put your username for your hosting account, in password put your password for your hosting account and make sure the port is set to 21. Hit enter.
If it doesn't work you probably have the wrong username or password or the server is down. |

For me, it only works if you don't include http:// or ftp://.
So when I want to connect to the site I use, I type myname.mysite.com, not http://myname.mysite.com or ftp://myname.mysite.com. |

I was thinking if I had to type in the ftp URL, not the regular URL. I'll try that out. |

If a port # is not given, you should always use port 21.
Then make sure you're using ftp protocol in the address bar (i.e ftp://blah, not http://blah). If that fails, check your notes from your administrator to make sure you're not misspelling your username or password. If THAT doesn't connect you, you probably didn't make the account successfully, or you're trying to connect as anonymous and there's no anonymous login. |

It's always saying that it can't login to the server. |

Are you getting an error message? Or is it just not doing anything? |

SmartFTP is only a trial for commercial users. If your "trial" runs out and you have the software for noncommercial use, you just need to download the latest version, which is exactly what it tells you to do on "trial up" window. |

Just because a program has a 30-day trial period doesn't mean it actually stops working after 30 days.
See, for example: SmartFTP, WinZip, WinRAR, mIRC, and so forth. |

Oh. I saw that it said on the download link descreption, that its a trial. |
