The fact that I got a 3-in-1 Sonic CD Sonic 3 & Knuckles Sonic R disagrees with you.

Sigh~
I'll go home later and try out my copy again, I haven't had it installed in ages, and if it still works, I'll do what I said previously in the topic. Now stop with the "arg help emu postcount++" D:

I think so. And uh, music works perfect. Again, I own it and never experienced any of those problems...

I don't have a Saturn emulator, but are you able to get the Sonic Gems Collection? I figure that'd probably be your easiest option, and it's only $20-30 last I checked.

Of course, you probably don't want to actually pay for it, so that's no good...

case closed. I value music and aquired the saturn version.

offtopic:
I actually don't have any CDs left, I bought a 25 pack sometime before christmas, only the top 5 worked (could have possibly gotten damaged in the move)

Edit:

Anyone know of a good saturn emulator? Every one I tried is shit.

Google search for Sonic R Winxp

5 - When I start the game, all the options have a big X over them
-----------------------------------------------------------------

This happens when you have not inserted the CD, or the computer thinks you
haven't.
Make sure you have the game inserted in the primary CD drive. Also be aware
the game does not seem to like CD-RW drives.
If the worst comes to the worst, you could crack the game, but I do not condone
priracy, so I shall not tell you where. Besides, you'd get no music that way.

Case Closed?

It certainly looks like some sort of anti-piracy trick, or a bizarrely coincidental corruption.

I beaten it on XP sp1 with it working fine. But i've run into your problem with XP sp2. don't know why this happens.

No. I own the game, played and beat it 100% on my WinXP PC, so it should run dandy.
If you want, I can make a [what? piracy? theres no discussion of it, i swear!] and send it to you.

EDIT: Perhaps you should try burning it to a CD, otherwise, it may be some weird piracy thing. I would get a legit copy if I were you (hint hint).

Well, I recently aquired this game, mounted it on a drive with daemon, installed and ran, but it seems I can only access the options screen (see screenshot)

Has anyone else had this problem?
