The stickies for such things have been removed, due to a general taking up of space in here.  If you want to share something like that, go ahead and post it in ATS, spark some discussion rather than pointless posting of links that aren't discussed.
I don't want to see individual threads for every flash/ytmnd/youtube out there, all with 2 or 3 replies. That is stupid, and I will close them and stab you repeatedly. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Also, IRC good times quotes has been moved to CD, now that IRC is getting active again. Perhaps the thread will get activity here. |

I'm gonna tear whoever makes it a new one. Here's the deal: Goodbye threads are meant for serious departures. The last truly good goodbye thread I have seen on this board occurred almost two years ago, when Weasel, a full moderator that most of you people probably don't remember, went off to take care of real life and was actually never seen again because he actually LEFT THE BOARD TO GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRY. If you are not dying or leaving your home for an extended period of time with no chance whatsoever of it backfiring and you staying where you are (Shyguy), and this departure is due to a major life change that will inevitably make you into a different or better person, you do not make a goodbye thread. If you are fed up with the board, chances are people around here don't like you anyway, and will not care if you leave because you've probably been trolling your arse off. If you feel you are not wanted around here, then you probably are not wanted around here enough where a goodbye thread from you would probably serve no purpose other than spam. And speaking of spam, spam is defined in the old FAQ as making "A thread that doesn't have any real meaning". Goodbye threads, when compared to all of the rest of the content on this board, be they jokes or be they serious departures or attempts at such, have no meaning. Congratulations, your anonymous identity on a ROM Hacking message board is compromising itself. You're a fucking hero. Just like Weasel. Except for the part where he's a hero and you're using the internet. From here on in, unless you fulfill the above requirements, goodbye thread = pain. |
