Allow me to impart some wisdom upon you.

My mother brought something to my attention - I had told her that nobody had mentioned anything about my looking thinner despite losing almost a fourth of my body weight suddenly due to diabetes. So, she told me, I couldn't have possibly been as fat as I had thought to experience such a weight loss (50+ pounds) and have nobody notice.

And then I thought, how can the universe allow humanity to judge it's own affairs? Humans suck at judging themselves. We give ourselves too little credit where we should be more optimistic, and too much credit when we should be harder on ourselves. Is there not, therefore, the need for the existence of some unbiased, "third-party" higher power to fulfill this?

Several empty shells fell into the sky as Six Shooter reloaded his Sniper Buster, sliding six pristine bullets into the waiting cylinder, giving it a good spin, and snapping it into place.

Six Shooter: Something isn't right, to be sure. Our adventures are far too strung out to have this entire matter end at Zeal.

Smithy-kun: Right! And besides... this is only-

the fourth wall breaks

Smithy-kun: -the seventh page of the story.

Tuxedo Melvin picks himself up, and giving the rotor on his magician's cane a spin, comes back to life, and he putters into the air.

Tuxedo Melvin: So chances are in a few minutes we're either going to see a new side of Zeal, see some new guy whose ass we have to kick, or something will happen to complicate matters entirely.

Tuxedo Melvin: A cheap revival? The plot thickens!

Six Shooter: But who? Not too terribly many of our foes have the resources to conduct a ressurection.

Tuxedo Melvin: I'll go get the list.

(... Emeralds, huh?)

A red hat appeared in a window in the back corner of the room. It rose a little, and a pair of eyes popped out from under it, along with a shock of brown hair. The window slid open, and Mel slid in head-first through the window, falling to the floor and crawling about like a slug to his desk, slowly rising up in his chair. He barely resisted the temptation to call out "AWISE FROM YOUR GWAAAVE."

Tuxedo Melvin scratched his chin, still floating a few feew in mid-air with his other hand on his magician's cane.

Tuxedo Melvin: Well, M-Tek is always open for you guys to visit if you need it. Two-way earpieces and secret decoder rings won't take more than a day to procure.

I remember that D&D-style part in the manga. Holy shit, that was awesome. I remember that Hiroto had this TOTALLY SWEET gun that shot giant lightning energy beam things. Looked like a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun with a pistol grip. Total awesome.

Mel: The pile of money was bigger than the scorpion.

The group soon came to the inn, placed conveniently next to a weapons and armor shop, and an items shop, all marked respectively by large signs bearing a bed, a sword, a shield, and a bottle. The inn was a small, country-style inn like you'd find all over any RPG, yet would never be able to find in real life, with four large, fluffy beds with snuggly comforters all grouped together in a single room.

After taking a small stroll around the room, Mel set his large case down on a bed, distinctly marking it as his. He reached into his pocket, drawing out a handful of coins and tossing them at a short, bald-headed man standing at the door, scattering them all over him. (There had to be at least three times as many coins there was a bill for the room.)

Mel: We were never here. Understand?

Tipping his hat down and giving Marina a pat on the shoulder, he put his hands in his pockets and shuffled off.

Mel: If anyone needs me, I'll be across the street.

Also conveniently placed, across the street, marked by a sign with a mug on it, was a bar.
