Ok, then, we seem to have reached a general agreement on $140 for the whole thing... and since he is in, you know, Afghanistan right now, he'll appreciate the stuff to do. 'Tis my stepdad, see.  Xeo: Emulation covers the Collector's Edition, and besides... my playstation is nearly shot, I play it more (FFT AND Front Mission 3!), and I want to replace it. With something that works, of course For this, I need money. And since I haven't connected my Cube in over a month... yeah. Besides, you can only beat OoT a few times before it gets old, and Majora's Mask... well, let's just say I never liked that one too much. |

| Well, if the levelling up is the same as in the original (some guaranteed stat boosts and some that you "might" get), then you may just be getting a bunch of lucky Vitality boosts on your white mage. That, or you got seriously unlucky with your monk's levelups. Also, with the level cap increased, the Monk's HP gain probably kicks into high gear at around L. 40, which would be the equivalent of maybe 17 in the original. My main gripe with the original was lack of MP (didn't mind the system, but FF3 was so much better... BM had 10 castings of Fire at level 3, I think.), so I think I'll get this... on GBA and emulator, probably. Damn small screen. Echidna? Wasn't that one of the last bosses of FF3 (along with Ahriman, and a few others that I can't remember since I never even got to the Earth Crystal in 3)? |

| Another one of these threads... allow me to provide my opinion on all three and note that I'm not voting for any of them. Gamecube: Sad. After the Nintendo 64, I expected Nintendo to improve. They did, but not by much. This system had great potential, but because of a gross lack of third-party support (Nintendo themselves can only do so much) there are few games worth playing. In addition, most games poorly use the controller. The controller is at fault here, however, as the layout is designed so it works great with some games. I'd prefer a good controller that works with all games over a great controller that only works for some. =/ PS2: Can't say much, though I applaud Sony on putting backward compatibility in. It's the main reason I'm getting one soon, as my old Playstation's having some problems lately. That, and the controller layout on the PS2 is the best of the bunch. And people, will you shut the fuck up about the graphics? I've heard enough complaints about the damn graphics, and the next complaint I hear about it might result in my throwing an Xbox at you. And we all know that's a brick. Graphics aren't everything. If they were, would some people still be playing NES games on their computers?Xbox: So you call it a brick. Frankly, I don't care how damn big the console is. Controller too big? They make smaller ones. My only complaint about this console is the black and white buttons. Their placement is a little awkward - it's very possible to have six easily-reachable buttons on one side of the controller, the N64 proved that. Beyond that, no complaints. |

| This is replying entirely to HH's reply to my post. No, I might have misworded. I meant don't complain about the size of the controller (Xbox controllers). I never said the layout wasn't to be complained about. Gamecube: I'll admit, Nintendo can make some really good games. There just aren't many games on the system - again, one company alone can only do so much. You also missed a problem with the layout of the controller. Yes, it can work for some games. But most games not made by Nintendo that I've played- this is more a game problem than a Gamecube problem - don't use the controller well and it ends up being simply a pain in the ass. As for our disagreement on the games... maybe I just got unlucky and found too many games I didn't like. Or our tastes are different. And my comment on "brick"? Yeah, that came from a thread at Xeogaming. And I've heard it before, offline too. You're right, though - bricks are smaller. |

| Yeah, and Red Mage gets multiple hits pretty fast too (Oh, yeah - I finally got a chance to play it.) Despite the changed (and in effect increased) MP, I still had two characters run out in the Marsh Cave. White Mage ran out before I got to the Piscodemons (Wizards in the original), and Black Mage ran out on the way back out. Any healing that was done after that was either from Red Mage or the potions I got from killing enemies. Or the 14 antidotes I bought before leaving Elfheim. By the way... anyone notice how the weapons in Elfheim... kinda suck now? Of course, the magic's as good as always, but... the weapons suck. All I bought there was a dagger for my black mage. | Like Sion, I see no point in fearing something that no living being can avoid. I would say enjoy life while you have it, but that's something I'm not particularly good at doing myself. What lies after death? No sense worrying about it, we won't know until we die anyway. And I doubt anyone's gonna come back and tell us. =/ As for how I die... well, my mind's pretty creative on that subject, unfortunately enough. |

| I've been playing it, I just didn't have any real comments. BTW, this'll sound odd, but what do you suggest I equip Maria with? I've been using a Javelin for now, but I'm still busy statbuilding before Salamando (goal right now is 200 HP, 50-100 MP... should I aim higher?) so if I should change that then lemme know. | If there are two versions that are equal, I'd go with whichever one has a smaller filesize. It's a leftover habit from the days of Dialup. Though I'd much rather see editors that work regardless of your OS... even though I along with most people use Windows, there are those who do not. And they shouldn't be left out.
