I do, sometimes.

Name's Cheveyo. Feel free to try to add me to your buddy list. I might refuse, though - if that's the case, either the name isn't that obvious (that is, I have no clue who the hell you are), or I just don't like you. I'll tell you which it is if you ask me.

JJ: That's the same way I got Lunar 2, Legend of Dragoon, Goldeneye, and Gauntlet Legends. I did lose Super Smash Bros. in such trades, but I almost never played it anyway since I didn't have any good opponents. =/

Huh, lemme see if I'm understanding this...

He logically concludes that the being pictured in the, uh... picture is not a creature of this planet. So far, so good. Therefore, since it is not a creature of this planet, we cannot be sure of its gender. Here, the logic gets a bit fuzzy, as while it's not a creature of this planet it came from someone's mind; therefore that person would know its gender.

So hey, maybe I'm thinking too much, but now I'm gonna have to say you made a minor mistake, Kyouji.

SMB3. More items, better levels, better secrets, and it didn't have that damned cape. God, I hate that thing.

There's a few levels in Worlds 6-8 I'd like to show you... hell, there's one in World 6 that I STILL can't beat.

It wasn't until Forest of Illusion that I had minor difficulties in SMW. I was 7 or 8 at the time, and my timing was not good. Still, I cleared Butter Bridge without much trouble, despite that bad timing. SMB3, however, started giving me slight difficulties in World 2, even more in World 3 (3-5 is still pretty hard), and it took a lot of practice to beat World 4.

But, perhaps I'm just better at different parts of Mario games than you are. That would explain why you think SMB3 is too easy, while there's numerous levels that give me trouble and one that I've never beaten - yet I've cleared every single level, and gotten every exit in SMW.

Oh, and while I started playing SMB3 before SMW, I didn't play it very often until I got SMAS, which was after SMW.

Getting lost in Minifortress in 8, after numbered level 2, and I forget what it was in world 6. Icy cave level, a lot of jumping around, I get lost...

Then there's getting lost in some world 7 levels. Wait. I think I just saw the problem. =/

Ah, Special World... yeah, a few of those were hard... fucking HATE Tubular! HATEHATEHATE!

Erm.

Overall, though, excluding individual levels, I just found SMB3 to be a little harder, a little more interesting, and a bit more Mario-like. WTF were they thinking, turning goombas into mutant apples?

Kyouji: That sounds like the right level... thanks.

Posted on 05-01-05 11:38 PM, in Why do you stay away from religion? Link
I'm not a religious person because there is no evidence of the existence of a 'higher power'. Similarly, there's no evidence (that I know of) that proves the lack of existence of a/many god(s), but I feel the burden of proof is on those that believe a god exists. I then looked at the people in this world. The greedy, the selfish, the warmongers. The poor, the chronically ill, the crippled. Would a kind and loving god allow this to continue?

There were, of course, other factors that stemmed from people around me. If I were to be Christian, I'd be associated with the one thing I hate most about religion - the nutjobs that try to convert people, which were sadly running rampant where I used to live before I moved last year. Hell, I've even had kids my own age try to make me 'see the light of God'. If I were to follow a different religion, then I'd have to deal with most of my family being even more annoying than they already are, not to mention probably being the center of numerous family wars. These weren't deciding factors, but they did have a little impact on my choice.

Lastly, I found it difficult to believe in something as illogical as using God as an explanation for all the mysteries of the world, which is essentially what I see most religions as.

So, just some final opinions on the subject of religion. If you follow your religion (or lack thereof) and do not use it for bigotry, you have my respect.

I wish people would stop saying that atheists have no morals (not said here, thankfully, but I've seen it and heard it elsewhere)

And Dude Man sounds like something out of Megaman.

Well, look at MOST of the Mario games, both pre- and post-SMW (SMW2, SM64, even SSBM). What are Goombas supposed to do when you stomp on them?

A) Flip over
B) Get flattened

Not that hard. You know you want to pick B. This wouldn't normally be a big deal, but there are a LOT of Goombas in SMW, if memory serves...

Alright, first off, knuck's a whiny little bitch.

Now that we've cleared that up, to the rest of your post.

"Hiryuu has since been a complete prick. Not once did he ever offer an apology or even attempt to get one from me. As a matter of fact, he hasn't even said a word to me since then." If he's been a complete prick, maybe you should be grateful he hasn't said a word to you since then. I don't particularly look forward to talking to complete pricks myself, but maybe some people do, I dunno.

"Strangely enough, Erk was never a problem to begin with. Things were much more pleasant in irc AND the board when he was hosting." Y'know, I doubt it had ANYTHING to do with him hosting. Yes, things were more pleasant back then, but I'm certain it had nothing to do with him.

"People take being staff to their heads." If it's any consolation, which it probably isn't, I've seen this elsewhere, too.

"The irc channel and the board are two seperate entities. You can't be punished in one for what you did in another. But whatever. " Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. Didn't say anything, though; last time I complained about something, I got banned. =/

"It's time to start wrapping this up. Now, take a look at your board now. Look at the people you're losing. Me, knuck, Jizuko, Phil" In order... You were an ass, but an entertaining one; read first sentence of post; he wasn't particularly active to begin with; never liked him to begin with.

"Well, I don't know about you but if I'm in a shithole, I leave." You seem to be complaining about this place a lot. Bye!

*reads over own post*

Looks like I agree with about half of what you said, and disagree with about half of it.

I prefer koopa shells to projectile goombas, myself. Especially in SMB2 and SM64, when you can surf on 'em.

The White Block (hide behind it) was an interesting idea in SMB3, too. Without a guide or an instruction manual, that's the sort of thing you just won't find out about. I don't see many people who duck for extended periods of time in that game unless they know about that...

I don't think SMW had anythign like that, though it did have the level in Chocolate Island that changed based on your coin count and time remaining, that was pretty interesting.

Alright, Toad could use some work. He's not bad, you can tell what he is, but he's not great. I'd look at his SMAS sprite for SMB2. Not for a rip, but to look at to make sure you get everything to look right. In addition, your balloons look flat. Some light shading could help that.

That leaf in the last picture looks pretty good, though.

Now, don't take my criticisms too harshly. It could be great in time, it just needs some work.

The new Marble Zone looks pretty good. I would suggest, however, some changes to the lava. It still looks like Mario and not like Sonic.

BTW, are you planning on changing enemy graphics? You know, the bats aren't too bad, but the dragon... well, that just doesn't quite fit, y'know?
