I heard they made some parts of SMB3 easier. Get Yoshi's Island. Same game, but six hidden levels are different I think. Not "easier" or "harder", actual new levels. Or so I hear, I never got that far on the SNES, I only beat the main levels. I figure that by now, most SNESes are having trouble with saving, or just not working like mine... And if they made my second-favorite NES game (sorry, but FF3 always wins there) any easier, I will be mad, and you should be too. Yeah, that's right, even if it isn't your favorite game you should be mad for them screwing it up. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 01-03-05 11:46 PM) |

Actually, with those blocks (1-up game)I think there is a pattern. Not a great one, but it'll help some - and again, this may just be that I have interesting luck. The first row and the next-to-last row (from bottom up) seem to always or almost always have the same pattern, and if memory serves the second and last rows are also the same as each other. There was also a trick in teh SNES version that allowed a guaranteed 1-up every time, but I forget what it was... And the 3-up is only in the GBA version. Yes, that is normal. You can only fight one of the bosses on each floor. However, that's not a problem in the fourth one, as IIRC, there's only one boss on each floor that has a boss. I should play this more... but I also have Morrowind. And well... two great games, one has a bigger screen. Bigger screen wins. |

Yeah, that one was it. Thanks, Hb2. Of course, half the time I didn't need the lives and was just using the coin/1-up rooms as a shortcut, but it's still nice to know.

Also, Xeo, 40 floors isn't that bad - you only need to make one trip anyway. Which makes it no different from Water, really. 40 floors either way.

Read Xeo's post for my opinion on fate. I tried to type it out, but I kept confusing myself when I read over it. Xeo said it better, so read his post. As for people being inherently good or not... I think that people start on neither side. Their life, how people treat them, the choices they make, is what shapes what kind of person they become. |

I think that we can't rule out the possibility they exist, and I also think it'd be somewhat foolish to think this is the only planet that can support intelligent life. I'm certain somewhere out there is another civilization, though we'll probably never find them. Edit: However, I'm pretty sure that those people claiming to have been beamed onto an alien spaceship are just attention whores. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 01-06-05 07:50 PM) |

Well, Xk, let's see... I commented on Trapster's lack of making sense, and suggested that maybe it'd be worth the trip for Fyxe to actually go and kick Trapster, considering that Fyxe had apparently made a comment like that previously. Then Kyouji said "maybe?", implying that it would be worth the trip without a doubt. Then you got confused. Better now? (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 01-06-05 08:36 PM) |

No, not for only being confused a few times. But the "making no sense most of the time" part adds to the desire to kick. So throw in a few for me, too.

Cleared Hellfire Chasm already, got the very helpful Kikuichimonji, which I gave to Red Wizard - had I given it to Knight, Red would be stuck with a freaking Ice Brand. And besides, Knight still has an advantage over Red (accuracy) and not much of an attack disadvantage. Yes, I just said that Red has more attack power than my Knight... almost as much strength and agility, too. I'd go through and kill Gilgamesh and Atomos, but I haven't killed Kraken. So, off to the sunken shrine I guess. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 01-07-05 02:53 PM) |

Basketball seems more fitting than golf or tennis for Mario and Luigi. Especially when you consider that their main talent is jumping. Makes sense to me. I actually expected it to happen sometime, though that doesn't make it any less interesting.

A or E. I hate D because I always use dark color schemes, and most programs that have their own colors that I've seen are really freaking bright (Black on yellow and white, for example). With other skins as options, it's not quite so bad, but I still generally prefer when everything fits with my computer's color scheme - something that can only be guaranteed by A.

"In that battle, I also discovered that casting Healaga is much more effective than using the Rune Staff. " Well, duh. The Rune Staff is only Healara. I think, anyway... Beat FF1 on DoS today, skipping Shinryu and Omega. Knight lv 58 Ultima Weapon Aegis Shield RIbbon Dragon Mail Genji Glove Red Wizard lv 58 (or, my other attacker. And the Party Buffer.) Lightbringer Elven Cloak Ribbon Diamond Armlet Protect Ring White Wizard lv 58 (or, my other other attacker) Masamune (hey, Lightbringer had too many stat boosts to take off.) Protect Cloak Ribbon (duh) Ruby Armlet Protect Ring Black Wizard lv 58 (Temper, please. And again. Don't forget the haste.) Cat Claws (Judgement Staff in inventory so White WIzard had attack for a while) Protect Cloak Ribbon Ruby Armlet Protect Ring The only boss to give me any trouble was Death Gaze. Killed my knight, so I had to healaga my party back to full waiting for an opening for Full-Life... while I did that, Black and Red started boosting Red's attack. After a while, Red fell. Annoyed, I repeated the same process to revive him. Then Black fell. That's when I said "ah, fuck it. I'm taking him out anyway." and unloaded on his sorry ass. Two people doing ~1500-2000 each was good enough. Until I beat him, I was stuck using a Deathrbinger on Red, and Kikuichimonji on my Knight, since I forgot to go get Excalibur before going into Whisperwind. Yeah, stupid me. In the end, my Red Mage had pretty good stats without Lightbringer. And with it, all his base stats were better than my Knight's except Strength and HP. Towards the end, he finally crawled above White in HP, too, which I was grateful for. ... it's too bad Chaos was such a wuss. |

Actually, you can use equipped items as items. Press Up when you're at the top of the item list in-battle. I had my Red Wizard do that numerous times with Lightbringer in random battles. (edited by Cheveyo Chowilawu on 01-08-05 03:46 PM) |

Leg's been permabanned a couple of times before, IIRC. I doubt this one will truly be permanent. How long will it last? Place your bets now!

Can't believe the death penalty hasn't been debated yet - and if it has, please point me to the thread. What are your opinions on the death penalty? Is it a barbaric remnant of earlier times? An effective way of keeping criminals off the streets? Or a waste of everyone's time? Personally, I go with that last one. Execution cannot be made exceedingly painful like it should be so people are getting relatively painless deaths considering what they probably put others through. There is the monetary consideration for keeping them in prison for the rest of their life, but... Anyway, before I ramble on needlessly and make people not want to read this, go ahead and discuss. I'll throw in more of my opinion later when I feel like typing it. |

The least weaknesses possible, I think, would be Water/Dragon (as seen in Kingdra, in Gold and Silver), and that's weak to Dragon type. Possibly Dragon/Steel, though that'd still be weak to Fighting. Keep in mind that the most recent game I played thoroughly was Gold, so things may have changed. I don't think it's possible to go below one weakness. I'll leave the rest of the discussion alone as others could explain it better than I. |
