| I emulate for old systems that I don't feel like buying for just a few games, playing rom hacks and normally Japanese-only games, or playing Gameboy games that I already have on a bigger screen. The only GBA game I have on my computer is Dawn of Souls, which I will probably get for Christmas (and if I don't, I'll just go buy it.) I downloaded it to try it first. Rebecca Daise: You say that assuming we agree with the law. If there was a law saying we could kill Welshmen on Sundays as long as we used a crossbow, would you agree with that? And I didn't pull that example out of my ass - I remember reading somewhere about that being a law somewhere... |

I'd be more interested if I could find the damn rom!  Probably just bad luck on my part, though.Yoshi's Island has always been one of my favorite SNES games, except in the autoscrolling levels (they were either too slow or too fast.) Of course, because of this, I'm very interested in hacks of YI, but without a rom I can't make many comments since I can't play the hacks. |

| Games are made to have fun. For some people, that means cheating to get a god-like character or every gun in the game. For others, that means not using a strategy guide and using a code to make the game harder. I hate being stuck somewhere. A difficult puzzle, an item I can't find, whatever the case it pisses me off. So I'll look at a guide to figure it out so I can get on with the rest of the game. I try to figure things out myself, but when it's too hard I'd rather find the solution and get on with the game. Using codes to get stuff that's not normally in the game is fine with me. Using a Gameshark to make custom characters in FFT (if only I had a gameshark...) is fine with me. Feel like making the game harder? Go right ahead. Just want to have the satisfaction of destroying everything with the strongest weapon in existence? Hey, fine with me. Whatever makes the game fun for you. *re-reads the posts in the thread* What? Am I the only one who doesn't see this as some sort of moral issue and just wants to have fun with his games?  |

| Dammit! Dammit! DAMMIT! Okay, so I opened level 1 of SMB3 in M3I (I had some trouble using SMB3 Workshop because my mouse lacks a wheel and for some reason my keyboard was sucking). I changed and moved a few objects and enemies - didn't add or remove, just changed them (trust me, looked completely different). Saved the level so I could see how it looked in-game. In game, everything's fine at first. Title screen normal, my edited map is fine... But when I enter level 1, I'm stuck on a black screen. WTF?! |
